Edited to remove as much traffic sound as possible. Eqed with a bass rolloff, a slight boost around 5-8 khz (to hear more crickets), and a cut somewhere around 100-500 hz (to hear less of the traffic).

A crowd noise created my a bunch of pupils talking about different things at the same time. Some parts were reversed to disguise the language (which was russian) and the actual meaning of words.

This is a 2 mic recording in a darts bar in tokyo. The first part is a pretty decent recording of the room. But then later the background music gets really loud. Because it's summer time, the air-conditioner is cranked full blast.

This started out as a basic kick drum pattern i was experimenting with in ableton, and then devolved into me applying an obscene amount of delay, echo, reverb, compression, and filtering. And now it sounds vaguely like a helicopter :).

Background hum for a sci-fi space ship. This sound was created using a kaos pad and an 8 track recorder, filtered through various effects.

This long recording was taken aboard the odoriko super view train from ito city bound for atami. You can hear the conductor's announcements, station arrivals and departures, passenger conversations (in japanese) and, of course, the train itself. The recording is unprocessed and made with a stereo mic pair at a 90 degree incidental angle.

Ambience recorded at a wine tasting evening, around 15 people to begin with, increasing to about 20 in total towards the end. Recorded using a single akg c451, run through an sqn 4s mini, into a tascam dr680d. Sorry it's not nice and stereo, but it was just recorded after an interview to give us something to work with in post. Might be panned hard left, too. This is a synthesized hi-hat groove. It is basically an on two layers sequenced noise-patch. One layer to create the "closed hat" effect and another one to create the "open hat" effect.
