A soundscape i created for fun that can best be described as sounding like standing inside some kind of giant living monster. Created using a voice sample reversed and slowed down and a drum sample slowed down.

This sound is produced by tanpura, a drone instrument used in indian classical music. The recording was done at tapan music center during a demonstration on how to tune a tanpura. Session 1, find more koto in this sound pack. The recorder wasn't optimally placed in the session 1 recording, so sometimes you might hear some low impact noises transitioning through the table to the recorder. Some eq (low cut) should be able to fix this. We went to my friend's father to record a koto, a traditional japanese zither-like (table harp) instrument, consisting of a large wooden base with long strings for plucking. The strings are tuned in the japanese pentatonic scale, allowing a mystic, mysterious, beautiful harmony. It was my first time ever playing this instrument, so don't expect wonders lol. But i tried to "feel" the instrument as well as i could, working from my limited keyboard and guitar playing skills. I improvised simple patterns, and also tried to work with call and response ideas, and bass notes, plucking the low strings with my fingers, and then plucking the high ones with a pick. Squeaky audio cable-to-speaker incomplete connection. One end is plugged into a speaker and the other is not plugged into anything. The squeaking sound is made from my fingers touching the tip and sides of the metal tip of the non-connected end of the cable. The variation of sound and pitch is from moving my fingers up and down the metal tip in different speeds, angles, and placements. The sound has been slowed way down, and the pitch has been taken way down too, to create a low drone sound for industrial purposes or in mad chemistry lab scenes, etc. Anything with a dark, industrial, and slight sci-fi feels.

This recording was taken from the balcony of an apartment in johor bahru malaysia on september 30th 2022 at about 1:30pm. It was monsoon season but not raining and the weather was hazy and muggy. The recording features the drone of a busy city punctuated by a whippersnipper, a building site, birds, a light aeroplane and car horns. At around the 4:30 mark there's two loud motorcycles that race each other and echo around the city in a most glorious way. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5 portable recorder.

A typical summer soundscape on the bank of the ohio river in southern illinois. The low, drone of a huge barge can been heard. Also, the higher-frequency insects are also heard from time to time. Sound recorded on saturday july 28th, 2018 at 2:00pm using the sound devices 702 and the audio technica bp4025 stereo microphone.

A slight improvement on my inception-sound. Wav , created using lmms, again 2 instances of zynaddsubfx and now also 2 instances of sf2-player with a trumpet type sound. I also used lowpass filter.

I thought i record some breaths, tried to variate it a bit. For example there is an inhale and exhale with the yogic ujjayi breath and some other ones. I used some of these in drone pieces, they blend it pretty well. Thats unprocessed raw: just recorded direct into ableton 9 with zoom h2n.
