Huge thunder clap, recorded in my garage with a netbook and yeti mic during a storm. One of those thunders where the flash and the sound are simultaneous. I had to edit out my "holy s**t" reaction.

The assorted sounds of a recycling center warehouse. Recorded nearest the can sorter, where the aluminum and steel containers are tumbled. Also background hum from blowers and the forklift, which beeps as it backs. This sample contains more can action.

Very loud, close recording of an old, partially functional wallensack reel-to-reel tape recorder. Recording includes the tape motor in operation and a piezo mic being dragged across the surface of the tape recorder. The recording has a fair amount of both background noise, and hum from the machine itself.

The sound of an animal roaring.

I recorded the sound of my alarm clock using a zoom h4n recorder and a rode m3 microphone. I can picture this sound being used at the start of an audio documentary that discusses the morning routine of someone who has to wake up early everyday. Maybe even the start of a film; this loud and obnoxious noise is an instant attention-grabber.

This is a very short excerpt of carnatic music. This sound is basically used for a demonstration of the importance of loudness and timbre in melody. A synthesized melody sound and a monotonized version of that sound will be soon linked here in the description.
