Long recording of a wood cutting session with a small gas powered chainsaw from stihl. I removed conversation so there are some jumps between the wood cuttings. But to compose your own wood cutting scenery, i prefered to keep all the handling, pereparation of wood and different types of cuttings in the recording.

This is a first in a series of loops made with the x-base09 drum-kit i have posted long time ago, i thought this would be a nice addition. Loops will be mainly processed in live9. Information will be available depending on the loop. This loop is a dry unprocessed loop, all i did was reduce the release on one of the kicks, as it has a long delay, and i didn't want that in the background of this loop, some midi velocity on the hi-hats, and i added a groove (chachacha) with only 10% quantization. This first loop was mainly to show the original sound of the individual hits as they where recorded, playing as a loop to give you a better picture of the sounds and therefore i added it to the x-base kit instead of x-base loop pack.

You know that high pitch beep you hear after something super loud, like an explosion? here's a five second effort to reproduce that sound. It fades out towards the end like the person either comes back to themselves or passes out. There's probably some on freesound already but i couldn't find them so i just made my own in audacity.

An eight minute long soundscape i made for an episode of an audio fiction podcast. Intended to give the impression of a strange and otherworldly empty void, and to mildly imply sci-fi machinery with a spiritualist undertone. However, could easily be used for other projects where you want to create a feeling of discomfort, or of being in a strange and empty place.

An long escalator i recorded in atlanta. The escalator was very noisy, and produced a kind of whining electrical sound that sounded almost spiritual. I do not know if the transcendent beauty of the escalator is captured sufficiently here, but i figured someone might be able to use it! there are a few faint voices in the background.

Shed door opens, then closed. First with a metallic click to unlock and followed by a long opening creaking door. Once opened there is a plastic rustle and the door closes with an even longer spooky creaking noise. Followed by a clunk when shut and a metallic click to lock the shed door. Silence back and front.

Walyunga is a haven of peace and tranquility just outside of perth. It's one of my favourite hikes in the area, as it's only a couple of hours long and combines proximity to water, a bit of a climb, stunning views of perth's skyline, solitude, and gorgeous flora and fauna. This series is done through layering and processing many samples of drum sounds i synthesised using various plugins namely xoxo's vst's and zynaddsubfx mixed with some old hardware samples i made a long time ago. There are 4 packs of the same series : perc snare kick and hats all using the same process.

I've recorded this with movies or games in mind. It's 1-minute long, can be easily looped by a simple crossfade. Check the pack for different "angles" and "views". Recorded with hand-held zoom h2's rear xy mics @ 96khz/24-bits. Converted to flac using audacity.

I decided to make this audio clip long since i haven't heard from them for a while. The sex noise parts are around 9:30 to 26:00. A lot of the parts were amplified.

This is the second part of a recording an overflowing brook in summer, out in a farmer's field after a rainstorm. This one is pretty clear but there may be some artifacts created by my phone being jostled, or other sound sources in the area, but it's long so those could be easily cut out. A nice & sunny recording session at the airport! positioned right at the flight path of departing planes, this served as a test recording for the tascam dr-40x. Mid morning bird song from the 50+ house sparrows that use our side garden to eat from the feeders, perch on the hedges and generally don't go too far away before coming back for another meal. The recent garden birdwatch survey has been published which shows sparrow numbers have increased but are still down from where they were when i was a lad. I'm 72 so that's a long time ago!.

It's a recording of water boiling in a kettle. You can hear the electric gas ignitor, the ignition and then warming up. The water was already very hot so this wouldn't take forever to boil. Then the whistley does it's job. Rising, steady, then the gas was taken out and the whistle slowly fades away. Very long natural fade-out. Recorded with zoom h2. Edited and normalized with audacity.

I recorded this piece in the hope to catch a bird sound i was hearing when i sat behind my desktop. It gave me this nostalgia feeling i had as an child when playing outside. Grudge movie croak sound interpretation. The sound was created using my own voice drawing in air while croaking. It was recorded using mixcraft 6 and a samson q1u microphone. The only effects used were a delay set to long repeat, a touch of reverb while mixing and some compression while recording. But the sound is my voice, in fact all the sounds i upload here are self made. :o).

This sound is about 9 hours long from the evening 13rd of april 2014 to the morning on 14th of april. First 2-3 hours aeroplanes passed by. A tiny baby chipmunk chirping at me and looking at me as a stern warning. It was about 2 inches long and sitting on a tree branch about 4 feet in the air. A long recording on board the "green car" of the jr tokkaido line from atami to shinagawa. A "green car" refers to the first class cars on some long distance local trains. The ride is smoother and the cars are generally much quieter. The cars are generally empty but, this was at the end of a 3 day weekend, so the car was actually quite active (i'll try to get a quiet one soon). You can hear the ticket attendant, the conductor's announcements, station arrivals and departures, passengers getting on and off the train and settling in and having conversations. At some point you can hear the guy behind me eating senbei (a crunchy japanese rice cracker) - that's a little annoying, but there might be some usable bits in there if you're good at editing backgrounds. But like i said, i'll try to get a less busy train next time. Recorded with 2 stereo mic pairs and unedited.
