This is a recording i made of a child's toy that had dead batteries in it. The sample playback rate was slowed by the drain of the amplifier. As sounds played back their pitch and sample rate changed depending on the amplitude of the sound. . . Pretty cool effect i figured. . . "man i gotta record that and use it!" so here it is!.

This is a recording made just outside my window. A helicopter flew over just a minute later, twice! i used a cheap large diaphragm condensor mic, with a plastic bendable tube around it, pointing just outside of my window. This created a cool midrangy-resonant-combfilter kind of sound. Gear used: cheap ldc -> m-audio dmp3 -> terratec ewx2496. This is for the earthfirewindwater contest. I recorded this gate in ashton court, bristol. I recorded it for a surround sound eco-soundscape composition however i felt the need to share as it was probably one of the best sounds i captured. The long hollow poles the gate is attached to creates a spooky reverb that sounds like its coming from the ground itself. Please feel free to use this wherever you need.

It's a long, organic and haunting two-tone call echoing in the forest night; a clear alternative to the mechanical and tightly musical ringtones out there, and one i like a lot. Edited to wrap nicely for a continuing repeat.

It's a recording of sounds of an old store refridgerator. The recorder (zoom h2) was put into the fridge and door closed. You can here the varying tempo of the compressor working, it's a characteristic cound that leaves a mark in your mind (especially if you listen to it for a long time). Recorded with zoomh2 rear mics from inside of the fridge. Converted to flac using audacity.

Made from a tom drum i created with xfer serum in reaper. Rendered the instrument as audio, then, sampled a small section of the tom and looped it infinitely to create a static frequency. Then i added the reapitch vst and created a smooth automation curve down to -24 semitones. Lastly, i added a short fade in and long fade out.

This is the sound of a minidv camcorder i bought off ebay, eating a tape of historic one-of-a-kind footage. I'll now have to get the tape repaired and attempt to rescue the footage some other way. I know a gentleman who started cutting his kids' hair and just never stopped cutting hair, long past his retirement as a farmer. I was at a human trafficking conference and to thank the people the first nations people of the area sang this song for a long time brushing the participants with cedar boughs and smudging. Hammer hitting a nail: in this sound you hear a metal hammer hitting a metal nail into a slab of wood, creating a harsh sounding sound. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. A high shelf and a band was added to the sound to make the hammer hitting the nail more clear. The hammer used was 2kg hammer and the nail was 5 cm long nail and the wood was a piece of eucalyptus tree wood.

A very long stereo ortf recording of the main square (place de la réunion) of mulhouse (france) made with a pair of akg c451 and an edirol ua-101 sound-card. German children crying most of the time, men speaking, cars passing slowly, soft rain about the middle of the recording, siren and church bell at the end. This is a squeak sound that i created by pressing a laundry cup together with my hands. It took me a very long time to replicate this exact sound as i had to press the laundry cup in my hands just the right amount to make this exact sound. I recorded this sound with my iphone. The sound is generated by self oscillating vcfs. I love sinus wave. I will sell my triple oscillator now. It does not have sinus wave! the randomness is generated to old fashion way. I don't have any fancy random trigger modules. Bla bla bla. . . I stop there.

This was recorded with a trustin portable rechargeable 8gb dictaphone. The recorder was held about 7" away for the louder scrapes and drops and no more than 3" away with the softer scraping sounds. Some normalization was used to drop the peaks. The tiles were in the small hall of an apartment, facing an open door. The hall was approximately 3 feet wide and 8 feet long. This is free to use anywhere you may find useful, and i'd love to hear the results.

For this one, the young couple did it on a morning. There were birds/dogs, planes, neighbor people close by, cars/trucks, and even people in my household got in the recording. Did my best to remove all the noises and only keep the noises coming from that couple. The sex noises are around 2:45-5:15. They weren't that sexually loud since it's morning. Not sure how long they were actively on bed this time either.

This is a great clear and loud recording of a cat purring for an extended period of time with no obtrusive noises in background. Rip pozzo, whom the purr belongs to. He was a very affectionate cat and purred if you so much as stared at him. Happened to catch this sound one night while alone at home with the cat. He was on my lap and my sound equipment happened to be right next to me.
