Tight metallic kick.

The sound is very soft. I was outside twirling in circles and such in my backyard. It was a windy summer afternoon.

A buzzy, clicky kick drum.

I recorded my raw kick drum with a shure vocal mic and then gave it a bass boost using audacity. Not too bad considering the equipment used. It is a kick drum 22" with an evans emad 2 head, a pillow inside, and a medium quality pdp drumset.

Footsteps in snow.

This is a completely custom kick i made from scratch using a drum synthesizer and also mixed and edited with a waves puigtech eq modeled after the famous pultec eq and a waves puigchild compressor modeled after the famous $30,000 fairchild compressor. The sample rate is 24 bit/48k and a headroom of -6 or 3db i cant quite remember but nonetheless more than under clipping. Needed a zimmer frame / walker sound for a radio play, so used a tripod!. Recorded with a rode lapel mic. First half has just the zimmer, 2nd half has slippered footsteps as well.

Using the remove hum tool on izotope rx2, i took out filtered out the hum that occurs in the 190-220 hz range. I believe any eq could filter that hum out at that range without affecting the bass in the footsteps. I believe the footsteps are in the 50-60 hz range anyway.
