Two contact microphones (stereo recording) were placed on a kite. The sounds you can hear are from the kite gliding through the wind. It was also shaken to simulate the sounds of the flying kite. The file may be used without restrictions, no credit necessary.

There's two male ghosts, one of them more loud and more low pitched than second. They sing along some song without words and screams, they're just wail and howl. Ideally can be placed in any place related somehow to ghosts(abandoned home, castle, graveyard) in some suspense moments or as constant sound on background(though, i should notice, that the sound isn't seamless). I recorded it with my own voice, audacity's delay effect on every of two tracks(every track has one voice - logically).

Real nice fireplace sounds from a fire burning. Very small crackles and sizzle burn sound effects along with air movement.

Field recording made in boston's city hall plaza, summer 2005. Lots of miscellaneous crowd noise can be heard: footsteps, random chatter, and so on. There is also some construction being done nearby, so the noise of construction machinery backing up is also prominent at certain parts.

A little test recording i did with my brand new pair of jrf series d hydrophones. The 'phones were placed into the bottom of a large glass, which i then filled with carbonated water.

Actually is not rain. It is snow melting down from a roof, falling into puddles and onto a corrugated roof. I placed the microphone (zoom h2) on different spots in 4channel sorround mode. I just normalized them and mixed them into stereo. Thats it. In this case the mic is placed on the ground in the middle of the puddles and the roof. I am playing a 9ft long log of ash wood (fraxinus excelsior) that i cut in half and hollowed out then stuck back together 15 years ago. While i play it i am remembering when i cut it and the place it was growing and the reason i felled it, and remembering when i revisited that place 7 years later and saw the tree growing back so well from the cut. I am remembering/dreaming about all the other times i played it and the reasons why. I am "future dreaming" of what will be its part in the space opera and what effect it will have as well :).

This is an alien scream effect i made by taking my scream i recorded earlier and reversing it adding a "wha wha" effect in audacity and then i copied that, placed it after the first, and reversed it again.

In july this year, a tremendous rain that changed to intense hail hammering on greenhouse roof. Flashes each 10 seconds. Placed a plastic jar on the microphone to protect it. The raingod spoke and suddenly it was all over. (i have a video clip, if somwone wants).

This is actually the electric door bell in my home, but it's loud and has an alarm type sound to it. The sound was recorded using a tascam dr-05 version 2 with the mic placed on the floor while the bell was just below ceiling height in my hall.

A recording of me walking through the snow which was fairly soft fluffy snow. There are also some places in the recording where i step on some brittle ice which crunches cracks louder.

Coffee is served from a coffee pot into a cup, then the cup is placed on a saucer. Recorded with a zoom h4n portable recorder. Edited a bit in audacity to raise the level of the coffee pouring sound and lower the level of the saucer impact sound.

Afternoon atmosphere at on the famous place jamaa el fna in marrakech marokko. You can hear people talking or making business, snake charmer with flutes and cobra snakes and mopeds drive across the square.

As our planet becomes increasingly crowded, finding a quiet, natural, tranquil place to listen to pure nature becomes harder. Even in the rural area of deep southern illinois you have to really try hard to find a place where the man-made sounds aren’t everywhere. However, i found just such a place on september 9th, 2012 at the cache river state natural area. This very peaceful recording was made at around 3:00pm in a grassy field bordering a small pond. The pure, droning sound of the insects of late summer make this soundscape almost hypnotic. If you listen closely towards the middle and end of this recording, you can hear the pleasant chipping of sparrows and the not so pleasant call of a crow off in the distance. Recording made with the handy/zoom h4n recorder, using the internal built-in stereo microphones. I mounted my recorder on a small tripod literally 3 inches from the ground so my recorder was actually hidden in the grasses and goldenrods of late summer.
