There are distant boats/ships, the oil refinery and a few sea birds. The wind was about 2 to 4 mph and that created some very small waves that can be heard lapping against the shore. Night-time wide angle stereo recording of manhattan, as heard from across the east river, the recorder was kindly allowed access to the veranda of the riverview restaurant & lounge in long island city and is facing the manhattan skyline. Some noises of the restaurant can be heard in the background, very subdued, the quiet lapping of the east river can be heard in the foreground, and manhattan bustle and traffic on the fdr drive is in the wide range. On my way home from studies in music i noticed quite nasty frequencies in every start from a station. You can hear the door beeing opened and closed to the noicy place between the cars. Recorded with the built in mic in a lap top.

Under a canal bridge, 2 barges pass. The first one does have a radio on (the music will be subject to copyright control) but i can't tell what the song is. After they've gone we hear the water lapping and one or two people talking. Some traffic in the background and a motorbike leading into the first barge.

This recording was made on a warm, clear day in early june right on the sandy bank of the mississippi river -- between illinois and missouri. You hear the low, strong surge of the diesel engines as a barge slowly passes through and, what i find most enjoyable, you hear the gentle lapping of the river as the waves reach the sandy shore. You also hear various birds, including the common red-winged blackbird. Even though this recording was made around 3pm in the afternoon, you also hear a low chorus of insects adding to the relaxing summer-like ambience. A very peaceful, yet strong soundscape of a majestic natural wonder that’s been here for millennia. Recording made with the zoom h4n, using the built-in internal mics.

This was recorded next to the shore of the tennessee river near savannah in west tennessee with a samsung galaxy phone. The video was poor quality however i used blender to separate the audio from the video. This was altered slightly with audacity to reduce the constant noise of a distant motor boat.
