I recorded hot-water-heating pipes crackling and then looped the sample at progressively faster & harmonically relevant speeds. This is one of twenty-two such samples that i layered together to make a new sample, which became the foundation for this binaural beat meditation track: https://soundcloud. A thunderstorm rolling through. Starts off with heavy rain and then lightens up. Some cars drive by and at one point a group of people on bicycles makes their way past.
The sound of the rose garden, arundel castle, late spring 2019. Birdsong (mostly blackbirds) and distant voices. Sd mixpre3 and rode svmx, 50hz low cut.
A recording made around 5 am in early april. . . . The peaceful but yet exhilirating ambience of spring birds and crickets. There is an ocassional cricket who sounds like he literally must have been sitting point-blank in front of my microphone - a great surprise, you can literally hear his wings stridulating. Recorded using the handy zoom h4n and the built-in stereo mics.
These owls were recorded around 8:30 at night in the shawnee national forest using my trusty rode ntg-2 on a mic stand. Even though it was a mild night and the insects and frogs should have been vocalizing, they weren't. It was kind of neat -- a dead-quiet night with nothing but these owls. If you thought that owls only do "hoot-hoot" you'll be surprised. After about a minute into it they really get going.
Recording of crickets and other bugs doing their nightsong in my backyard. Apologies for the sounds of cars, there's a small highway up the hill. Akg p220 condenser mics. Studio one 3.

Sunny spring day in back garden in galway ireland. Birds singing, light breeze, low traffic in background, church bells can be heard in the distance towards the end. Recorded with in built mics on zoom h4n with rycote wind protector.
I climbed down a narrow rock cave to record the eerie sounds of waves and water pouring in and out of the cave. It seems like it's never exactly the same sound. Good for setting ambiance in a cave for your treasure hunting pirate movie or audiobook.

6-minute clip of a thunderstorm with sweeping rainfall in the grass and trees of my back yard in northern colorado. Sounds of annoyed crows and grackles can be heard periodically in the distance, and the ambient sound of water through the gutters and downspouts is also prevalent. Recorded with a tascam dr-60d and two behringer xm1800s dynamic mics. Post processed with amplification and mid eq boost in audacity.
Distressed cicada on the ground clicking or trilling very fast and loudly. The insect had dried and flown, apparently, but for some reason landed in the wrong area in the late afternoon on a very hot day.
Stereo recording 48khz 24bit from the top of hangman's hill in the malvern hills, uk. Recorded for world listening day 2014 on 18 july in the early afternoon. Recorded with rode nt4 and sennheiser mkh416 through sound devices 442 into tascam dr-40. Additional processing in sound forge. The nt4 had quite a lot of top end hiss that i didn't really notice until too late.
A pack of coyotes wailing. Lots of frog and cricket noises too. Recorded in a small valley, so there is lots of reverb and echo. Great scary movie ambience! recorded on a zoom h4n.
The amrican robin is a common bird to the united states, and while the robin does live elsewhere there are small variations that make this bird unique.
Atmosphere of a backyard in a village, with the sound of cicadas, buzzing insects, birds and wind, while an airplane passes by. Recorded in sztána, transylvania.
