A sizzling effect made from close proximity xy (diaphragm) recording of oil on a high heat dropped onto a heated frying pan. Careful doing this, as this spits very hot oil back at you. It however will also create this rather high timbre sound very suited to those get scalded.

Here is a recording done during the fireworks of san juan at the beachof barcelona, spain. I was standing in front of the mapfre building, between the building and the sea to be exact. Fireworks were being launched behind me from the beach and their sound was reflected off of the building in front of me. The effect you hear are thereflections of the building. The building is shaped to visually reflect the city back onto the beach. Hence each floor has mirrors in a 45 angle downwards, all around the building (look it up on google for details). The sound must be coming from different points each located further away, creating a kind of discrete doppler effect, i suppose, although i am not yet 100% sure what exactly causes this. I am holding the microphone sideways, so you hear the explosions on your right ear and the reflection traveling to the left. In reality, you hear the explosion behind you and the reflection traveling up along the building. If you are ever in barcelona end of june during "san juan", you should check this out!. This sound is completely analog. I recorded the sound of a person who was walking on the street. I chose to leave the noise of the street so that we understand that the person walks outside. I used the effect "amplification" to reduce the noise of the street and increase the sound of step. I made a fade in opening and closing, so that we have the impression that the steps are moving towards us then moves away. At the same time, i played with the pitch of the sound to accentuate this effect. This is the ambience i created for my sci-fi sitcom accidentally reckless of a dropship of some kind approaching a battlefield (and certain death). The bare bones was created from a field recording of the x-1 bus going down attercliffe road towards sheffield city centre, during a period in 2017 when they were constantly resurfacing the stretch that goes past the swingers club, resulting in the bone shaking rattling sounds you can hear. I then layered on some laser and rocket noises (already uploaded) and some engine type sound effects and shuttle flypast effects that i don't think i've uploaded yet. A huge ice storm moves in to the back woods of north carolina on 01/30/2014. First it snowed. . . And then it sleeted. When all that sleet froze on the surface of the snow, walking in this winter-wonderland produced an amazing sound. So, i put on my boots, grabbed my zoomh4n and set out to record the magic!. This would be very useful as foley fx for walking in any frozen environment. I walked on various surfaces and depths of ice and snow throughout. Note c. I recorded the ukulele on my phone, playing the note c on several strings. The recording was then reversed and treated with more reverb.
