Some quietish night ambiance recorded from my backyard. You can hear someone doing something with some metal stuff somewhere. Pretty short.

The entrance / smoking area of a british nightclub midway through the night on a quiet friday. The club overlooks a main road. Recorded on a tascam dr-01 in stereo at 24bit 48khz wav.

Quiet urban residential area in tokyo at about 2 am in the late summer (october, i think). You can hear far off traffic, some night insects and a drunk guy who came to close to my hidden mics to take a whiz. Excluding the peeing guy, quiet parts are perfect for looping (for ambient background sounds in video or audio works). The peeing guy might actually be useful, so i didn't cut it out. Faithfully recorded with a stereo mic pair placed at a 90 degree angle. The left-right balance was adjusted and the stereo field was expanded later to fix the lopsided sided flatness of the original recording. Other than that, the recording is unprocessed.

Large metal sheet and ornamental metalwork gate to village cemetery opened and shut, creaking on it's hinges. Recorded around midnight to avoid bird and insect calls - despite this precaution there were birds calling in the distance. On arrival i saw there was a house adjacent to cemetery. Fearful of waking the non-dead i didnt hang around for more than two bad takes. I've added this not so impressive recording to give a taste of what i hope to record of this wonderfully vocal gate in the future.

I mixed the two speeds (fast and slow) together to get a weird windy swamp? don't know, just thought it sounded good at the time. Tools used:sony cybershot camera (original version)audacity (editing).

I followed the sound of the insects in the gardens to a tree-filled spot and stood stationary to create the binaural recording. Crikey the cricket was chirping in a leafy bush in portland, oregon, around 11 p. M. In early september. The original recording had some ambient noise, but it has been cleaned up for use in. . . A film?. . . A song?. . . Or raw material for mangling into a sound design element? this is the. Wav version; there's also an. Aif should you prefer that. It has not been down-sampled.

Recorded from the window of my attic flat in walkley bank, sheffield. This is the moment of new year's day 2021. You can hear a small amount of children in the background and one child suddenly shouting "happy new year" and scaring the bejesus out of me at about 3 minutes. I change position at 1 minute 30 (pretty much climbing entirely out of the window) and you get a much more impressive surround sound feel after that. There's also a huge explosion right at the end that is definitely worth waiting for.

Douzens of frogs within a ditch at dusk end of may 2013, giving an evening concert. Recorded in moorende 25 km apart from hamburg. The ditch is a part of the old watering system of the huge apple plantages of the altes land. Recorded with a tascam dr-100 with its implememented stereo cardioids, 44,1 khz, 16 bit stereo. Fortunately and unusually nearly no wind during the recording and only one motorbike passing at the small road beneath - which i was able to cut off unnoticable.

A recording of crickets chirping at night around griffith park. Occasionally, some light traffic can be heard. Recorded in a mid/side configuration with a sennheiser 416 and a rode nt2000. Edited to remove as much traffic sound as possible. Eqed with a bass rolloff, a slight boost around 5-8 khz (to hear more crickets), and a cut somewhere around 100-500 hz (to hear less of the traffic).
