One of my first at attempts to make an impact sound by layering. I should have picked better source material. I used some recordings of closing a door. Http://freesound. This is a small guitar riff, sampled with the loop function on a line 6 dl4 pedal, then pitch shifted and reversed with the same tool. Recorded straight on the daw with a sm57.

Class 52 “western” diesel-hydraulic locomotive, d1015 “western champion”, powered by two maybach md655 units (each developing 1,350 bhp). Recorded at cardiff central railway station, south wales, uk, 27 october 2007. Background station noises are also recorded, “western champion” is heard with the maybachs idling whilst the locomotive is at rest. The change in engine pitch is when “western champion” accelerates away from the station pulling a train of eight coaches. Recorded, hand held, using built-in microphone to a pentax opti 750z digital camera.

Samples of various 80-90s' game, crushed, mixed, stretched and processed with various effects, sampled at 6khz and resampled at 48khz with korg microsampler. Have fun.

I made 3 copies of each sample:a-stretch of 25% and passed in guitar cab simulatorb-lowered by 5-7 semitones and passed in a bass chorusc-passed in a very bland reverblayers and passed in the art vla2 compressor. . . I like them very much. . . Try and enjoy. . (also works with other percussive sounds).
