Tambien se utiliza, en algunos pueblos, en la parranda. Está constituido por una caja de madera, cilíndrica y ligeramente cónica, está cubierta por una membrana de cuero seco, vibrante. Fijada al tambor con tirantes metálicos, de modo de poder templarla de acuerdo a las necesidades y gusto del intérprete.
