Sound of a truck grinding through some gears, then crashing. Spliced together creative commons audio and added bass modulation to simulate the sound of gear grinding. This is a noise i found while listening to a recorded track that i thought sounded interesting, so i worked with it for a bit, eliminated all the extraneous noise, and amplified it to max volume without (unwanted) distortion.
This is a very brief sample obtained by opening a zip file with audacity. It sound a bit like a dial-up modem. It seems to work well for melodic solos and playing two or three note chords sounds good, too.
A short clip of a (intentionally) low-skill trumpet player playing a simple warm-up tune. Could be used to demonstrate technique improvements or what-not-to-do. Trumpet played was a yamaha allegro with a yamaha 14b4 mouthpiece. Recorded using the internal microphones of a tascam dr-40x at a distance of approximately 3 feet.

Airy "khhh" sound, enhanced version. I created the original sample some time in the early 2000s using creative wavestudio when i was playing with a small computer microphone.
This is a squeak sound that i created by pressing a laundry cup together with my hands. It took me a very long time to replicate this exact sound as i had to press the laundry cup in my hands just the right amount to make this exact sound. I recorded this sound with my iphone. I am immensely looking forward to sharing more sounds with the freesound community, especially since i have been a part of this website for over ten years now!.
