A unique sound i recorded in bangkok whilst standing on a floating pier waiting for a boat. The pier is made of metal and the sound produced is the empty steel pier rubbing against the pylons with each wave of the river. You can also hear a boat motor as a ferry pulls up to the pier. Recorded with a tascam dr-05 using a fur windscreen. Some noise removal in audacity (to remove noise from a plane that briefly passed by).

I synthesized this by making white noise, then applying a bandpass filter, and finally applying a wah-wah filter thing at a very low freq. In audacity. .
