Rosso corsa is the red international motor racing colour of cars entered by teams from Italy. Since the 1920s Italian race cars of Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lancia, and later Ferrari and Abarth have been painted in rosso corsa ("racing red"). This was the customary national racing colour of Italy as recommended between the world wars by the organisations that later became the FIA. In that scheme of international auto racing colours French cars were blue (Bleu de France), British cars were green (British racing green), etc.

Rich black, in printing, is an ink mixture of solid black over one or more of the other CMYK colors, resulting in a darker tone than black ink alone generates in a printing process. Rich black is often regarded as a color that is "blacker than black". While this is impossible from the point of view of color theory, the difference can often be seen in the printed piece. The difference is most apparent in backlit (also known as "translite") pieces, where rich black more thoroughly blocks the light from coming through.

Yale Blue is the dark azure color used in association with Yale University.

Erin is a color that is halfway between green and spring green on the color wheel. It is named after Erin, a poetic name for Ireland. One of the earliest known uses of the word "erin" to describe a color appears in the poetry of Jane Johnston Schoolcraft (1800–1842). In a poem titled To the Pine Trees, Schoolcraft reflects on her arrival back to North America after spending years in England she writes "Not all the trees of England bright, / Not Erin's lawns of green and light / are half so sweet to memory's eye, / As this dear type of northern sky."

Verdigris is the common name for blue-green, poisonous, copper-based pigments that form a patina on copper, bronze, and brass.

Eggplant is a dark purple or brownish-purple color that resembles the color of the outer skin of European eggplants. Another name for the color eggplant is aubergine (the French, German and British English word for eggplant). The first recorded use of eggplant as a color name in English was in 1915. The pinkish-purple-grayish color shown in the color box as eggplant was introduced by Crayola in 1998. Different varieties of eggplant may range from indigo to white (the term eggplant originated as a description of white colored eggplants because they look like eggs).Chinese eggplants are the same shape as a European eggplant, but are colored a dark violet color.Thai eggplants are small, round, and colored forest green. Purple is a more used term.

Bole is a shade of reddish brown. The color term derives from Latin bōlus (or dirt) and refers to a kind of soft fine clay whose reddish-brown varieties are used as pigments, and as a coating in panel paintings and frames underneath the paint or gold leaf.Under gold leaf, it "warms" the colour, which can have a greenish shade otherwise.However, bole in art is a good deal more red and less brown than the modern shade; it is often called Armenian bole. Although bole also means the trunk of a tree, these words are simply homographs that do not share an etymological origin.

Cordovan is a rich shade of burgundy and a dark shade of rose.Cordovan takes its name from the city of Córdoba, Spain, where the production of cordovan leather was first practiced by the Visigoths in the seventh century.The term cordovan has come to describe the colour of clothing – leather in particular; in this sense, the use of cordovan overlaps with that of oxblood. The first recorded use of cordovan as a colour name in English was in 1925.

Camel is a color that resembles the color of the hair of a camel. The first recorded use of camel as a color name in English was in 1916. The normalized color coordinates for camel are identical to fallow, wood brown and desert, which were first recorded as color names in English in 1000, 1886, and 1920, respectively.

Old gold is a dark yellow, which varies from light olive or olive brown to deep or strong yellow, generally on the darker side of this range. The first recorded use of old gold as a color name in English was in the early 19th century (exact year uncertain).

Indian yellow is a complex pigment consisting primarily of euxanthic acid salts (magnesium euxanthate and calcium euxanthate), euxanthone and sulphonated euxanthone. It is also known as purree, snowshoe yellow, gaugoli, gogili, Hardwari peori, Monghyr puri, peoli, peori, peri rung, pioury, piuri, purrea arabica, pwree, jaune indien (French, Dutch), Indischgelb (German), yìndù huáng (Chinese), giallo indiano (Italian), amarillo indio (Spanish). The crystalline form dissolved in water or mixed with oil to produce a transparent yellow paint which was used in Indian frescoes, oil painting and watercolors. After application Indian yellow produced a clear, deep and luminescent orange-yellow color which, due to its fluorescence, appears especially vivid and bright in sunlight. It was said to be of a disagreeable odour. It was most used in India in the Mughal period and in Europe in the nineteenth century, before becoming commercially unavailable circa 1921.

Flax or Flaxen is a pale yellowish-gray, the color of straw or unspun dressed flax.The first recorded use of flax as a color name in English was in 1915, but "flaxen" had been used to describe hair color in David Copperfield, by Charles Dickens in 1849: Mr. Omer's granddaughter, Minnie, is described as "a pretty little girl with long, flaxen, curling hair."

Baker-Miller Pink, also known as P-618, Schauss pink, or Drunk-Tank Pink is a tone of pink which has been observed to temporarily reduce hostile, violent or aggressive behavior. It was originally created by mixing white indoor latex paint with red trim semi-gloss outdoor paint in a 1:8 ratio by volume. Alexander Schauss did extensive research into the effects of the color on emotions at the Naval Correctional Facility in Seattle, and named it after the institute directors, Baker and Miller.
