The clip was created using a synsonics "terminator" guitar with a built-in amp by running the output to my sound card and sound card's output going into to a secondary jack intended for headphones on the guitar. It created an interesting metallic noise, almost like a ring mod. . . There is a segment where i was poking the guitar's amp circuit board with my fingers which creates lots of grumbling/squelchy noises. . . The guitar is kind of crappy, but it makes a pretty neat noise synth! :b.

Think of a spaceship launching from a desolate planet with hardly any fuel reserves. Sorta heavy distortion with the right amount of phaser and chord progression. Almost moody and atmospheric.

Light string sound without melody. Made with a keyboard improvisation midi, processed through virtual synth in music maker as acoustic guitar, disguised with reverb, delay, echo and fx phasing into something that sounds almost like a gypsy cimbalom.

Low distortion, almost surf rock but a bit of country. Or more western than country. Maybe even call it somebody trying to run out of texas into new mexico only for the engine to sputter every few seconds.

Scary ambient sounds. . . Almost musical, perfect for a horror scene in a movie or a game. Try morphing it further by reversing and/or time-stretching it!. Fully made with a 7-string electric guitar, a line 6 pod x3, and delicious amounts of post-processing, sampling and vst effects :d.

This is a single guitar string plucked with a pick directly at the headstock, that means between the tuners and the nut. There the string is very short and tight, resulting in a high, almost piano-like tone. Also, since there is no sound box, the tone is rather quiet. I used this for a sampler and i liked the sound of it. This is the raw recording. If you want to use it in a sampler too, i recommend adding some eq, reverb and maybe some delay. It is not perfectly in tune though, the closest note is a#. You might tweak the tuning a little bit when using it in combination with other tuned instruments. An aural echo of days of gentle hippiedom. An accidental discovery as a result of feeding ni massive through flstudio's effector vst. An x-y controller is attached to effector with asychronous ramping of the x and y gains via two control tracks. Strangely produces phantom instrument sounds, almost like guitar and organ. Created in flstudio 11 with ni massive, flstudio effector, reverb, compression and eq. The note track is made by me for no good reason - i just thought it sounded pretty. *there is, now, a longer version on my harddrive.
