22 minutes stereo recording of a thunder-storm including 3 major strikes at 0:15, 15:00, and 21:00. Rain in the background. Digitally recorded as 48khz-24bit-wav (device: zoom h4). Normalized +5db, then down-sampled to 44khz/16bit. This is the ogg vorbis file (q: 60%). There is also a flac version (lossless 100mb).

I think this sounds a bit like a jazz age theme reflecting a journey by steam ship. It was bolted together from little loopable sections (also uploaded separately here) which were all created using edirol orchestral samples and the magic of arpeggiating programs. I was trying to make some floaty meditation type music like people use for hypnotherapy and yoga and stuff but accidentally made something fractionally too menacing. To me it sounds like something you might have in the background of a scene where viewer is contemplating an unexpected cosmic vastness or an ancient alien artefact or something otherwise mindblowing but also potentially existentially threatening.

Authentic expression of chinese traditional instruments is hard to imitate so this scene is very short, but useful. Recording of a button sound from a vintage teac hi-fi stereo amplifier. Recorded and processed at 24bit 96khz using the tascam dr-40 linear pcm recorder. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else. Also de-noised.

This is a recording i took in my back yard on the 4th of july 2014. There are the sounds of crickets as neighborhood fireworks being set off faintly in the background sounding almost like a war zone. The house is off a busy street, so there is also some traffic sounds. Neighborhood dogs bark at the fireworks faintly in the background.

Bowling: here we have the sounds of a bowling ball hitting the pins in a bowling alley. Not only do you hear the loud crash when contact is being made by the ball but you also hear the pins scatter. There are different variations of the ball hitting the pins to accommodate the user's preferences. They vary in tempo and amplitude. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg. A 1-minute field recording of loyola high school in los angeles. There is a keynote sound of a bell tolling indicating that it is 8:00. There is also a sound signal of the school bell ringing that signals that class is about to start. You can hear people talking throughout the recording. I was showing my 1 year old my recording studio. He was laughing and talking so i recorded him to play it back. His reaction was as wonderful as i could have hoped. This was recorded in my home studio, on a cad e100s microphone. Recorded in audacity, i copied the clip, lowered the pitch, stretched, added reverb, and reversed the audio. I also normalized to -3db.

Approx. 0650hrs, early march 2021. Put my recorder in the open bathroom window. I had to have the gain up higher than i wanted as the sparrows are down in the side garden about 30 yards away. The crow sounds closer, perhaps on our neighbour's roof. Collared doves also cooing but faint. The sound of our boiler is in the background.

This is the first recording i made with my zoom h1 (probably will be making more soon). I made it from my balcony, late afternoon - there is a large playground surrounded with 4 four-storied blocks, so there's a great echo. The birds are very noisy at this time of day here and kids as well. There are also some distinct parents talking in the background. Recorded in small town in poland.

Just me stretching, rubbing and 'twanging' a rubber exercise band. Apologies for the knocking in the first 20 seconds, my upstairs neighbour started moving some furniture. I made this recording for a very specific purpose but i suppose it could be used in an animation or computer game but also for something bondage or kink related?. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution.
