For those who like a vintage sound, this impulse response tries to be the most faithful in the type of spring reverb used in the 60s, on vocals, on guitars, and mainly as a mixing reverb as an alternative to plate reverb if do you want the sound of a garage rock or dub. Depending on the context, you can leave the reverb in mono which reinforces the vintage character.

My goal has been to open any jar or bottle without assistance. Some of those are screwed on pretty tight, unlike, uhm, me. So i bought one of those squeezy things where you work against a spring, but, my hands are a bit too small to gain the necessary advantage. The alternative? a crush-able exercise ball. It's a long, organic and haunting two-tone call echoing in the forest night; a clear alternative to the mechanical and tightly musical ringtones out there, and one i like a lot. The putipu'ù is a percussion instrument used in neapolitan folk music and, generally speaking in the folk music of much of southern italy. (an alternative name is "caccavella". ) the name putipù is onomatopoeia for the "burping" sound the instrument makes when played. The instrument consists of a membrane stretched across a resonating chamber, like a drum. Instead of the membrane being stuck, however, a handle is used to compress air rhythmically within the chamber. The air then spurts audibly out of the not-quite-hermetic seal that fastens the membrane to the clay or metal body of the instrument.

The sound of a construction worker operating a concrete road saw on a rainy day is heard in this recording. The recording begins with the saw already in operation, then is shut off and shortly restarted. He makes a couple of passes on the section of road he is working on and turns the machine off. A nearby siren is also heard at the end, so the shutdown at the head can be used as an alternative. Gear: zoom h6, xyh-6 x/y capsule (120 degree stereo image), rycote windjammer. A little thing i came up with while doing some research on how j macis writes music. Found out he puts a capo on the second fret and by doing that this japanese pop chord progression i learned by watching a video marty friedman did on japanese style guitar improv was sounding a lot better than without one. I made this sound in september 2003 - i used a fairlight mfx 3 - a direct descendant of the first sampler ever made - and the best ever to this day editing software for ground breaking features and functions. Clip based eq and level which you could cross fade between made the use of automation almost redundant in precise to picture editing. It also had a unique alternative jog function. You could loop 1 frame or so as you chose of sound at the orginal pitch which made it easy to find transient points. I then 'grind' the play head over a solo'd sound and play this into a reverb unit. If you open a sample in the sample editor - you can recreate the fairlight jpg by grabbing the playback head in play. You may then route sound flower thru an input channel and get some unusual effects that are difficult to achieve. . If you can improve on this method let me know!.
