This is heavily inspired by the urban myth and/or creepypasta called the backrooms, which have a very distinct atmosphere to them. This is my interpretation. However, this isn't exclusively for backrooms-related stuff! so by all means, if you're simply in need of some interior ambience of any sort, that's also why i made this for you. For the 2nd layer, i turned on some fans in my room, and made a long mono recording of the white-noise. Late winter snow storm last night in the detroit area 3-3-23 around 9pm est. Was attempting to record thundersnow but by the time i found my batteries the thunder and lightning stopped. Threw my zoom h1n under a plastic cloths basket just incase the thunder started back up, but no luck. This is a short clip of the original hour long recording. You'll hear, sleet, snow & wind.

I made this pad sound by starting with a traditional saw wave and mixing various effects together such as reverb and chorus. Field recording of times square in new york city recorded at 6 am on a saturday morning. The recorder is situated in the center of times square, some cars (mostly taxis) are underway, some (very few) people as well, cleaners and a team of subway construction workers are on the scene. Recording was conducted in march 2012 with a zoom h2, mics set to 90° dispersion.

This is a seamless loop of a semi-rare instrument called the ukelin, out of tune and played incorrectly on purpose. It was given to me as a gift today and i had to sample this thing. This is before i tuned it, bowed across the strings you're expected to pluck and strumprocessed with dmg channel comp, voxengo elephant, internal daw eq, and valhalla room. Dark background sound in place of background music. I recorded this in my booth, using audacity and my cad e100s. The higher sound is a pen tapping on the bottom of a metal cup. I used various effects to stretch, raise pitch, and a few others. I also layered the higher sound 4 times to get the "harmony". The low sound was my voice. I lowered pitch, speed and stretched the wave, as well as a few other effects as well. Enjoy.

This is a great clear and loud recording of a cat purring for an extended period of time with no obtrusive noises in background. Rip pozzo, whom the purr belongs to. He was a very affectionate cat and purred if you so much as stared at him. Happened to catch this sound one night while alone at home with the cat.
