From nasa - "this recording was made by the supercam instrument on nasa’s perseverance mars rover on feb. 19, 2021, just about 18 hours after landing on the mission’s first sol or martian day. The rover’s mast, holding the microphone, was still stowed on perseverance’s deck, and so the sound is muffled, a little like the sound one hears listening to a seashell or having a hand cupped over the ear. Just a little wind can be heard. ".

Re-mix and re-edit of various public domain/nasa recordings of the space shuttle take-off/launch. Commentary/countdown has been edited out so don't expect it to sync completely with any one film or video take of a launch. Note to downloaders:i'm not that big a stickler about receiving credit for the use of my sounds on freesound. As a courtesy, i appreciate it but i do ask people to always credit freesound. Org and if their project ever sees any kind of profit to please consider making a donation to the website. It's a great resource and deserves our support. Good luck with your project. In the case of this recording some acknowledgement of the original source material i. E. The national aeronautics and space agency (nasa) is only fitting.

Quindar sounds were used by nasa for controlling the ground station transmitters that allowed communication with spaceships through the space shuttle era. Fiber optic cable has made quindar sounds obsolete. This sound, at 2525 hz, was generated when the capsule communicator pressed the ptt button on his microphone, and the pitch told the ground station transmitters to start broadcasting. You can read more about quindar sounds at https://www. Hq. Nasa. Gov/alsj/quindar. Html. This sound was generated in audacity.

The sound of me banging on a metal folding chair after i reversed it and added reverb to it. I also made another layer of the same sound un-reversed underneath it so it would not be too abrupt. Ah, the things you can do with an ordinairy metal folding chair! made with audacity and an ordinairy metal folding chair.

We where located in the news media viewing area called nasa causeway. This as close as anyone can get to the launch. This was the maiden voyage of the orion spacecraft, and one of the very few delta iv heavy launches. In the beginning of recording you hear nasa announcer giving countdown into loud speakers, when you reach around the 1min 50 sec mark the true booster engine sound overtakes the pa system. We are very grateful for the opportunity to share this, most powerful man made machine with 2. 1million pounds of thrust to get millions of pounds into space.

The nightly visit of something unidentified object, got a new and historic aftermath. Jay prusse at nasa happened to have his radio scanner on and captured a strong but short signal that was repeated for one minute. Specialists found that the signal actually formed this word 'mirabut'. No one has a clue what this word means.

The most famous phrase: "that's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind". I've extracted this audio segment from a video of the first steps on the moon, from http://www. Hq. Nasa. Gov/alsj/a11/a11. Step. Html) and removed some of the machine noise from the original recording.

Although the project inspire (nasa) seems to have died, there are still sources of sound sources of vlf noise in the net. In http://abelian. Org/vlf can be found several available streams from multiple receivers located around the globe. In this package, i simply offer a few records scattered in time from this site. The stereo samples correspond to a experimental stream that combines two sources balanced on each channel: cumiana vlf receiver (italy) + sheffield vlf receiver (uk). The mono tracks correspond to other indeterminate receivers.

Created for fun to document the first test launch of the (fictional) falkon8 space rocket to take humanity to the rings of saturn. After the countdown the engines start. During liftoff, ground control engineers talk to the pilots to help keep the rocket on the right course. The launch crew and pilots are talking in a particular regional northeastern italian dialect. The mission launched from the san marco platform, italian "luigi broglio" space center. Following sounds were used:82986: counter93078: space rocket264185: space rocket start and background386067: some radio distortions and classic nasa com. Beeps.
