Gentle waves at 8 am, 30 0ctober 30 2013, on a small sandy beach in helsinki, finland. There are a few distant crows and early morning bird twitters, and perhaps the occasional bump of a distant row boat. And my first recording. . . Recorded using a samsung galaxy s3.

This recording was taken on dangar island shoreline. It features the gentle lapping ocean on the beach with the occasional jumping fish. The recording was taken with a tascam dr-44wl and the onboard xy mic pair. Post recording the sound was cleaned up a bit with rx spectral de-noise, and then normalised.

The left and right omnidirectional capsules are separately mounted in lavalier housings that allow independent placement when recording.

A field recording of small waves crashing on a sandy shore. Part of the recording includes the waves splashing against a wooden structure. The waves come a fast, regular intervals; this isn't the slow rolling crash of a barrel wave on the beach. There was a bit of wind (generating the waves) which i've did my best to minimize, but if you don't want wind in the recording you're going to need to edit around it. I recorded this sound in lloret de mar, a small town of spain. It was a really windy day, i went to the beach to record the wind and the sea, because it was a bit stormy. You can also hear people, talking and laughing in the background. It was a really beautiful and sunny day!.

Hail and rain storm recorded in palm beach gardens florida. Used a new rode ntg5 direct to a zoom h6 recorder. Cleaned up in adobe audition. Hail is bouncing off of gutters and cars then turns to a light rain with a hint of thunder in the background.

Small regular waves falling on the gravel lakeshore of the bodensee (lake constance), which is the largest lake in germany. This lake is so large that - as you can hear - it has some 'real waves', which sound very relaxing :). Recorded on an iphone 7, aug. 2017.

This sound is entirely made with audacity, i played with the noised and reverberation on several tracks, then i shifted the tracks to create a come and go effect. I also reduced the volume on some parts of the tracks. This sound remind me of a windy weather near the ocean.

Ambience of flowing water or heavy rain. Created with the korg electribe 2 using various white noise sources. These are filtered, the filters itself are modulated by a random modulation. Post-processing was done in cubase.

Here is a recording done during the fireworks of san juan at the beachof barcelona, spain. I was standing in front of the mapfre building, between the building and the sea to be exact. Fireworks were being launched behind me from the beach and their sound was reflected off of the building in front of me. The effect you hear are thereflections of the building. The building is shaped to visually reflect the city back onto the beach. Hence each floor has mirrors in a 45 angle downwards, all around the building (look it up on google for details). The sound must be coming from different points each located further away, creating a kind of discrete doppler effect, i suppose, although i am not yet 100% sure what exactly causes this. I am holding the microphone sideways, so you hear the explosions on your right ear and the reflection traveling to the left. In reality, you hear the explosion behind you and the reflection traveling up along the building. If you are ever in barcelona end of june during "san juan", you should check this out!. This was recorded next to the shore of the tennessee river near savannah in west tennessee with a samsung galaxy phone. The video was poor quality however i used blender to separate the audio from the video. This was altered slightly with audacity to reduce the constant noise of a distant motor boat.

A foggy july morning. The recorder was placed on a rock about 30cm from the edge of the water which was moving very slowly. The waves were really shallow and soft. You can hear uk songbirds in the wooded area behind the recorder and seabirds in front of it. Occasionally you can hear a foghorn in the distance.
