Following the latest ‘dare the community’ i’ve finally hooked up my dirt cheap rtl software radio dongle to the formerly disused ‘masthead amplifier’ on our roof. Here are some english truckers(?) chatting over cb radio. They seem to be talking about one of their mates growing a beard and suggesting they ‘give him a quran’.

I was trying to record some "wind" noises with my mouth by blowing at the mics, when i came to close and my beard started to crackle against them. I liked the soudn and i actually used it later on some stuff - it's not a great quality recordning but it might interest someone. Sorry for the "windy" sounds at the start. . . Recorded with a zoom h4 n.

I know a gentleman who started cutting his kids' hair and just never stopped cutting hair, long past his retirement as a farmer. I've never seen him take a cent for it, and he has friends; so he's never out of practice. You will hear an electric clipper used to taper hair on the back of the neck and to trim sideburns. He does not use a barber's straight-razor, but a small electric razor finishes the job.

Well, the closest i could get, anyway. Technically, it's a banana. One sudden peel, truncated, modified and reversed in various ways until it sounded (to me) like it could vaguely represent the sound of sewing. . . . Not that sewing by hand actually makes much of a sound. Recorded for the point-and-click adventure game, "the beard in the mirror": http://store. Steampowered. . . . Yeah, it's pretty gross sounding. But maybe that's just what you're looking for! (it's specifically supposed to sound like a guy choking on a small rock. ) not the highest quality (it was recorded on a handheld digital recorder like a decade ago), but maybe someone can find a use for it. I was standing in the middle of the newport southbank bridge facing the daniel carter beard bridge. You can hear cincinnati on the left and newport on the right while traffic pans from left and right in the stereo image. Gear: zoom h6, xyh-6 x/y capsule (120 degree stereo image), rycote windjammer, mounted on a tripod. Please feel free to leave feedback and ratings. I would love to hear how you put the sound to work.
