As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully don't turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. This is traffic on hwy 134 (next to walt disney studios / warner brothers studios) recorded while standing on the hollywood way overpass on 11/16/2018 in burbank, ca. Surprisingly, traffic flow was pretty good and i would assume cars were traveling around 40 to 50 mph. Enjoy,. Christopher c. Courter.

This is a short, dissonant loop made with a neapolitan mandolin. This has been recorded with an sm7b into a rme interface, and quantized to 148bpm in logic pro x. This is a dry file with no other processing. I used it on a couple of old-school hip-hop beats to trigger effects or completely butchering with distortion for some extra textures. I thought it might come in handy to rap producers out there! if you do something with it, i would love to check it out!. I was recording an acoustic version of a song called "closer" by my band dead rituals, and a friend let me borrow this old neapolitan mandolin. I made some random noises by picking behind the strings at the end of a take, and i decided to sample it!.

I have been hearing an animal or two beneath my bathtub for some time now. Today i discovered who it was. Leaving my apartment building this afternoon, i saw a cat sized racoon carrying her baby under the walkway. I went back inside and set up a microphone aimed at the floor by my bathtub. Methodology: shure sm58 into focusrite and recorded via ableton. Noise removed in audacity. I have a horrendous ground loop situation. In the future i may try to mic from below the apartment so that it isn't so muffled by the floor. Some noise comes from how much i had to amplify the signal to make it heard.

Around 2010, i circuit-bent a motorola cellphone and added a control surface to control the bends. Then i added an atari paddlewheel so its big potentiometer could be used to do pitchbends, and the result is an instrument i called the "sonic electronic ball breaker". It's got knives, quarterstaves, thor's lightning, sharp sticks, nuclear machineshotguns, and even some claws that come out to jab 'em. In this sample i'm going through and playing with the controls to see what i get. These sounds are pretty abrasive, but they work well when run through a bunch of effects.

Moderately flowing stream - jack creek in central oregon's cascade mountains flows out of the ground at the base of three fingered jack mountain. The water comes from a glacier on the mountain a couple of miles from where multiple springs create the large creek bubbling up from the dry ground. This recording was done several hundred feet downstream where the creek was already about 50 wide and only about a foot deep. This piece is a sound-sculpture of a weather effect commonly called the beast from the east in the uk. It is based on a longer piece by me called frozen kaos. This was constructed by me using only copywrite free sources of sounds, musical(ish) pieces and natural sounds. All of these were assembled and processed using the free software package audacity™. Most samples have been filtered, pitched, and manipulated vastly to make the basic foundation. On that base all the rest of the sounds were layer (over 200 different layers -- manipulated, mixed down, rebuilt, remixed, manipulated). I mostly work be happenstance and never take notes -- often what comes about is as much by chance as by design.

In this sample you hear a recording from inside a well sound insulated room, directly under the roof of a house. Strong rain hints the roof and produces low frequency muted sounds. In the background you hear the constant noise of the rain, coming through the window. There are also a few raindrops hitting the glass of the window. The sample was recorded using the built-in stereo microphone of a zoom h4n recorder. It was slightly processed to remove unwanted low and high frequencies which were not related to the actual recording. Falconry bells come in multiple shapes and are made from metal. Nickel, silver, brass, and bronze are all common materials used for falconry bells. Both the shape and the metal type impacts a bell’s sound quality, along with its pitch, tone, volume, and durability. Oftentimes, individual falconers will have a preference in material type based on which pitches are the easiest for them to hear.

Me (a man) teasing my wife by going down on her, bringing her to near orgasm, stopping and fucking her. This repeats as she gets closer and louder. The sex becomes rougher and there is some choking later in the recording. I think this recording was made in 2016 using a zoom h6 and a rode ntg4 mic or possibly the x/y capsule that comes with the recorder. Note on the recording: there seem to be some silences at a couple of points. Something probably happened in the rendering. I probably won't do anything to fix this as it's just a few seconds out of 18 minutes of audio.

A stark soundscape of the icy wind swooshing through dry oak leaves on the edge of a midwestern lake. Plus, as an added bonus, from out of nowhere two fast-moving canada geese come storming through at only about 25 feet from where i was standing!. I was very lucky because they are so close that at some point during this recording, you can actually hear the sound of the wind being pummeled by the beating of the geese's very large, strong wings. Equipment: sound devices mixpre-6 and sennheiser mkh 416 inside a blimp. Recorded on monday december 28 2020 around 1:30 in the afternoon. Outside temp was 37 degrees and the wind was blowing steady at 10 to 15 miles an hour.

I believe this to be a weasel, but it could have been a river otter, asthe only part of the animal i saw was the snout down a dark hole. Theanimal was amidst the riprap at the end of our garden, and beingtormented by two neighbourhood dogs. I shooed the dogs away, but theanimal continued to shriek for some time. I have this in wav format if anyone requires it, but i'm sending the mp3 because the original is 26mb long and i'm on dialup. ===fyi - i saw an animal swimming in the river a few days later, and am 98. 5% certain it was a river otter. =====2007-09-07ok. My biologist wife and i have come to the conclusion that it's an american mink (mustela vison). Poor little guy.

I recorded this from a balcony (5th floor) in the middle of a summer day (end of july), using a mid/side set (mkh30 + c480 b-uls/ck62-df omni) into sound devices mixpre3. Not any processing has been added, except a plain m/s to x/y stereo conversion and low-cut filter (30hz). This is a generally quiet atmo, sometimes light wind comes in, some seagulls and other birds are there at times, some construction work happens etc. The traffic noise is present, but in the distant way. Feel free to use it in any of your productions. Not for resale.
