A recording of the upper pond in jones park, brunswick east made in january of 2023 on a pleasant summer's night around 10pm. I came for the wildlife, but also captured the sounds of city. Along with frogs, bats and insects you can hear music, a dog, a bicycle, traffic, and people. The conversation might not be suitable for children. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5.

A conversation that happened in the kitchen. Warm for the time of year, a man steps in to play basketball on a corner paved lot. Just one basket and no refs, the two free-throws he is offered are almost unheard-of. Maybe some of them didn't like his looks. Likely too they know what he does for a living. Likeliest of all he was playing well, but for sure the woody that won't quit had come to call, and they probably liked that least of all. So he steps up to the foul line and the first shot zips the net. So does the second one, but even before it gets there, someone jumps in behind him, grabs hard and and zips his pants all the way down. They aren't around his ankles, though. Close one, he's standing on them. Worse, a local crowd has gathered. Only the stunned aren't laughing or pointing or cheering. You put your pants back on and go home, what else can you do? game over.

This is a simple recording of the passing crowd in the heart of the latin quarter of paris, france, on a wednesday evening between christmas and new year's eve. The recording was made at the corner of the pedestrian xavier privas and huchette streets, with the mics aimed diagonally across the street, about 4. 5 feet above ground. By a happy coincidence (i'd like to say that i engineered it, but i didn't), this sound file loops seamlessly. The clip includes the sounds of many people passing by (the area was very crowded), and some snippets of conversation, mostly in french, with a few other languages thrown in. Some faint traffic noise can be heard on the left, from the busy quai saint michel street along the south bank of the seine river, at the north end of the xavier privas street (left of the mics in this recording). This was captured from last year. I thought my recorder wasn't working properly because when i checked the recording, i couldn't find the file. The time/date stamp was screwy. Lol anyway, i didn't see the couple but they were in the room right next to mine. I could literally hear them through the door. I thought at first that it was more than just a couple in the room but after listening several times i think it was just one couple. Like i said, i didn't see them. There is some conversation towards the end but nothing significant that needs to be censored or deleted. The guy was joking with the girl about being a "five star fuck". ;d lol throughout the recording, you might hear some "knocking" and creaking sounds. Sorry. That was me. I kept my hotel door propped open and i was peeking out every now and then to check on my recorder. Anyway, i wasn't able to get a recording this year but i was able to find this one (that i thought was lost) from last year, so enjoy! :d.

I combined an ambient bar crowd recording that i found here with a funky little back beat that i also found on this site and made a great cubicle noise blocker / filter. I use this at work with headphones on when i'm trying to concentrate and drown out conversations in the office. Also good for when i work from home and i'm trying to drown out the tv and other distractions. The crowd noise is excellent at diffusing regular office conversation and the little funky back beat keeps the crowd noise from getting boring. This works really well even at fairly low volume i. E.
