I needed the sound effect for a car arriving. These were recorded in my driveway. 2011 honda element, waliking to car, starting it, backing down driveway, driving back up driveway, stopping car and walking away. Recorded using the internal mics of a zoom h2n. Recorded was on a tripod about three feet from car. These sounds were originally used in a performance of vanya, and masha, and sonia and spike.

I needed the sound of a plastic recycle bin being rolled out to the curb. I set my zoom h1n on the sidewalk at the end of my driveway and - in two trips - rolled the cans out to the curb. You will hear me walking to the cans in the right channel, the garbage bin is rolled from the right channel to the center-left. Then repeat for the recycle bin.

At the end of a country driveway, on a dirt road, i recorded this with my stereo handheld recorder. The car approaches from the left and passes by to the right. You can hear the transition in the stereo field.

My dad using a gas-powered tiller on the side of his driveway. Unfortunately, i didn't realize his truck radio was on, though you can only hear it when he turns the tiller off at the end of the recording. It was recorded on the zoom h4n.

This was created by recording the sound of rain coming off of the corner of my house and hitting my pavement driveway. It was collecting in the corner of my roof, which is what made the sound louder and stronger than the sound of rain which was falling naturally.

You can hear people entering the doors and catching one of the elevators, a woman talking, and traffic passing by on the building's driveway. Recorded on my zoom h4n 44100 hz stereo. This is a short clip of my 11 year old son playing basketball in the driveway at our house. There is ambient road noise. It starts off with a swish, then some dribbling then another swish. This is a rubber basketball bouncing on asphalt with a metal rim, nylon net and wooden backboard.

Recorded with a roland r-05. I placed it under my pickup truck on a very rainy day. The sound of rainfall has a little bit of a metallic sound as the rain hits my truck. There is also a river-flowing kind of sound as this street floods in heavy rain, and the water runs from the street into a storm drain right beside my driveway. Various vehicles occasionally pass by.

This was recorded from my windowsill facing onto a tarmac driveway in august 2012. There is the occasional tinkling sound of raindrops hitting a metal gate, some traffic noise, the occasional bit of thunder, and some shouts of people getting wet. At the end, raindrops start falling onto the recorder. This is fairly heavy rain by oxford standards; we probably get something like this only a couple of times a year. Every saturday morning workers roll the large garbage bin down the driveway at our apartment and dump it into the garbage truck. Usually it's an annoyance, because they come early, but today i decided to record it. 2007 toyota yaris driving on a country road. I needed this type of sound for an av with specific time characteristics. Three takes separated by 1 second silence. Take 10-10: 30 kph. 10-30: slowing down in top gear. 30-35: stopping. 35-50: idling. Take 250-60: 30 kph. 60-80: slowing down in 2nd gear. 80-85: stopping. 85-95: idling. Take 395-115: 50kph. 115-130: blinker. 130: gravel driveway and stopping. Recorded on a marantz pmd 661, 10 december 2020 at 21:30, with a rode nt4.
