This was the required weekly test from jul 01, 2015. This was recorded using a midland wr100 weather radio and an aph bookport plus.

The emergency alert system tone (eas tone) is a national warning system in the united states put into place in 1997.

This was an experiment running a yamaha tx81z through a korg ea-1. The fm is a grand piano patch decimated and warmed up with analog oscillators. Sampled into an mpc. 44. 1k, 16-bit.

Here's audio of an actual eas "immediate evacuation" alert sent via the cap protocol, which is eas via internet, which then activates radio and tv stations ( in the usa)this particular alert was due to wildfires enchroaching on the town of silverthorne, colorado.

Yamaha tx81z initialized with mild adjustments, run through a korg ea-1. Mixed with a behringer, with fx sends going to a chorus pedal and a distortion pedal. Sampled with the mpc. Sounds similar to dirty guitar or an electric violin. 44. 1k, 16-bit.

Patch made with a microkorg and an ea-1. Sounds a little bit like an organ for a few octaves. Lovingly multisampled. 44. 1k, 16-bit.

Fat square wave sub bass made with z3ta+ and a korg ea-1 mixed through a behringer mixer, recorded with an mpc. 44. 1k 16-bit.

Disclaimer: this may be loud. Check your volume. This sound is an experiment i did for a short film my crew and i are working on. I wanted to see if i could make a warning effect like the civil defense messages that play on the radio for storms and other emergencies, so i recorded my voice, and pitched it down, equalized it, put it through a high pass filter and lo and behold, i think it sounds pretty darn close. I then coupled it with a couple alert tones from my local noaa / nssl station and this sound was born. This effect could be used for an apocalyptic scenario or civil unrest, riots, looting, or anything else you desire. Not required, but it would be cool to hear if you use it for anything. Enjoy!.

So i got bored and decided to create a mock rwt. This is just me rambling on about it. Don't worry, i'll include the links i said i would in the description of the mock rwt. Also, this sound will not be included in the noaa weather radio pack. I appologize if this upsets you, but i figured it's not exactly nwr content. The mock rwt will be included, though, as it is somewhat related to nwr. This was made with kontact and a korg ea-1, mixed with a behringer mixer with light dirt and overdrive. Sampled into an mpc. Left and right are separate channels processed differently. So each sample is actually 2 different sample, 3 if you combine them. 44. 1k, 16-bit.
