We got in the van and drove down a rural road in arkansas, united states. On the side of that road, we found whittington creek. Train passing and tannoy announcement as heard on-board the train leaving from portsmouth towards southampton central. The doors are still open so you can hear the platform announcements too. Recorded on a zoom h1 with roland in-ear mics.

Binaural recording made with a dummy head and in ear akg c417 pp. The head is attached to a mannequin torso. Recorder: tascam dr40the crickets are very near the dummy head, 1 on the left at 1m and 2 or 3 on the right located 2m away.

Listen with secure stereo headphones. The first wave sounds mono; it should appear as though the sound is coming from the center of your head. In the second wave, the right channel has been inverted--otherwise identical. That should sound as though there are two distinct sounds coming from either ear.

At least 2 or 3 local species of native frogs in my neighbours pond. This is the sound of an inland vessel on river rhine, near mannheim, germany. You can hear the rhythmic and fluctuating vibrations of the diesel engine. Seems to be an older one. Unfortunately i oriented my zoom h2n wrongly (90° to the right). So most of the noise appears on the left ear.

It is a very strange sound:) made by my reloop rmx-30 dj mixer's and sb live soundcard's bug! there could be a malfunction and when i used the gain potmeter the sound from nowhere (the cable, the mixer, the soundcard, don't know. . ) became mad. It is travelling on freaky frequencies which makes your ear bad. It is worth to listen:) pure hardware sound.

This is not a perfect loop!it was sampled by me inserting a jack over and over into a casio sk-5. I did the beats by ear, while listening to a metronome set to 100 bpm. It is extremely close though. You don't have to site me if you use this sample in your work, i don't care.

Sounds of a ceramic coffee cup being hit with a steel spoon, single hits and repetitive fast hits for imitating a bell of sorts. Caution: may get noisy and ear-piercing ;). I whipped up this wacky reinterpretation of the twilight zone intro while doing a sound design concept. In this piece, the recording of an acoustic guitar was made,with the technique of listening with one ear from several points and distances, since, as we saw in course 2, doing that is like listening to the way in which the microphone picks up the sound; and that is the specific point where the microphone must be. A dynamic microphone, interface and computer with digital audio station was used.

15 year old dog struggling to breathe. Dog walks through the house making loud gasping and ear-splitting clacking sounds (claws on fake wood flooring) in a house with excruciating acoustics. The bell-like sound is her clumsily banging into a water dish. I love this dog but i've been listening to this every day for 1. 5 years. It's nerve wracking and incredibly annoying to listen to, imo.

For the recording, i used the tree-ear method, holding the microphones on either side of a tree, which results in a very wide stereo field (considering the capsules are omni). It was recorded in my backyard on a winter day which was actually more like a spring day.

Recorded to iphone using sennheiser ambeo smart headset (binaural mic). There's a dip in level in the first 10 seconds where i'm playing with the mic, but it levels out shortly after that. The amtrak pacific surfliner winds it'd way up and down the pacific coast coast. This train is known for spectacular coastal views. Here you can hear this high-speed train come screaming through burbank's downtown station (traffic can be heard on i-5 in the distance). You will hear a security guard walk behind me just before the train comes through. He was one of our trusty transpo officers making sure i wasn't up to no good with my zoomh4n device.
