I made this pad sound by starting with a traditional saw wave and mixing various effects together such as reverb and chorus. The wav file also has pre-defined loop points that can be used in samplers that support the functionality. Note: there is a slight static noise that is present when the sound is played through the freesound player on the website, however, the static is not present when played outside of the freesound audio player. 2hp osc is fm modulating bermuda (using fm in). Pitch cv to osc is controlled by sloth and attenuverter. The bermuda tri output singnal is shaped by doepfer vactrol vcf. The vcf is modulated by sloth (cv in 1) and jerkoff (cv in 2). The noise it from dan, going to polivioks vcf. Polivoks is modulated by sloth. Output from vcf is going to vca controlled by another sloth.

A soundscape from my debut album, "summer crickets. . . " takes several field recordings of rural summer ambiance and mixes them with my own acoustic guitar strumming. Heavily pounding bassdrum originally made from 10 litre bottle punching sounds recorded with my fake shure c608 mic and heavily processed by adding some modulations, distortions, layering some attack and setting bass part (under 200 hz) to mono. Channeling the /dev/sda1 hard drive partition into a file. At last i've imported the raw file properly as the 8-bit unsigned linear pcm. This is 8bit mono 44100 hz windows wave. Lots of strange digital sounds. Quite useful for noise and experimental musicians. Interesting that if we just do cat /dev/sda1 > /dev/dsp we hear different sound more like modem 56k. Using a bass drum module to get not that bassdrummy sounds. . . Combining this with different types of feedback. I didn't know how to end the recording, as you will notice. I'm using an analog delay and spring reverb. Maybe the ending in it self is interesting? i find it hard to "tag" this sound :-)how useless is this sound on a scale from 1 to 5? 5 is totally useless. . .

A bunch of weird and hopefully interesting noises. Created using the korg electribe 2 synthesis engine with alot of modulations and asynchron patterns. Post-processing in cubase. Broken transmission pads: c2 note, random gabbled modulated sounds using absynth 5. Sampled into ableton with a bit of effects, compression using psp compressor2 and psp warmer. This was originally a friend's cat meowing but it has been processed heavily. First, it was put through a granulizer and the pitch was dropped -2 octaves. The sample was then panned l-r using automation, and bitcrushed. Lastly, to get a slight detuned feel, i added a chorus effect. This sample sounds even better with some convolution or hall reverb but i left this effect out since it's usually a effect users want total control over. The end result is a strange, alien sounding noise.

While recording narration on my blue yeti microphone, the cable came loose in just such a way that it started glitching and converted everything i said into weird techno music. In the radio drama big data, it was used to represent the end of the internet. You are free to use it in any way you like, but it would be super funny if you credit it to "broke yeti" as though that is a real band and help me confuse people.

Feedback loop involving jupiter storm, a-147-2vcdlfo and a-101-1 vactrol vcfcv injected from 2 x sloth and intellijel quadra expander in quadra moodsome spring reverb. After ~1min i switch "noise core disruptor" (jupiter storm) off. Evaluation of patch/soundone cycle is about 28 sec - goodonly short sounds - badamplitude variation - goodpitch variation - goodtimbre variation - goodmusical value - low to mediumentertaining - high, or what?. Not sure how to describe it, so i'll just describe how i made it. . Micro sampled something in g minor, added tons and tons of lfos to filter modulation, with more filters, and eq and utility, and tons of effect plugins like vinyl, lofi2, saturaters, yeah yeah. . All that stuff.

An almost similar snare sound to that of idioteque in radiohead's 2000 album kid a. Though it is meant for experimental style, i think it would work with any form of electronic music. It was created by resonating noise from audacity, filtering it, fading it out, stretching it and compressing it. It has a characteristic sustain to it. Imagine it as a mix of a gunshot, cymbal, shaker and snare. Feel free to use it in any way you like. If you ever use it publicly or commercially, notify me so that i can hear how you used it.

Some raw one-shots from my doepfer a-100 modular synthesizer recorded and edited using ni maschine. In my ears they sound way better with a bit of compression, but i thought the unprocessed files would be more useful. Naming is super vague. Recorded back in may 2014. Strega almost reproducing the organ at the royal albert hall (ha ha ha!). Just a sequence from 0-ctrl fed into rings, strega and karplus-strong (mu) of mimeophon. Octave lower reproduction using morphagene. Erbe-verbe adds depth. Outs to x-pan. Rendered @48khz 32bit with markers for all you morphagene fans out there. At cmu, there is a building with a really long hallway that has amazing acoustics. In this experiment, i set up a feedback loop. On one end of the hallway, there is a microphone connected to a laptop. On the other end, there is a speaker connected to another laptop. The two laptops are connected via skype calling. I play with my speaker's built in eq, and play my violin to stimulate the resonant frequencies of the hall. A better set up would be to use better equipment directly connected to each other, and have a stand-alone eq to independently control what resonant frequencies are playing.

Although the project inspire (nasa) seems to have died, there are still sources of sound sources of vlf noise in the net. In http://abelian. Org/vlf can be found several available streams from multiple receivers located around the globe. In this package, i simply offer a few records scattered in time from this site. The stereo samples correspond to a experimental stream that combines two sources balanced on each channel: cumiana vlf receiver (italy) + sheffield vlf receiver (uk). The mono tracks correspond to other indeterminate receivers.

This is a remix of oceas 8th loop at 130bpm, the samples in this pack were made mostly by running the original loop through a custom plugin i made with synthedit. The general idea of the plugin is to seperate the incoming audio into 8 seperate channels using high-resonance bandpass filters, then run each of the 8 channels through its own special effect including reverb, delay, harmonic generation, ring modulation, modulation of the original signal by the harmonic generation signal out, and another reverb.

This is a section of the pack with 50 bass drum varieties. Most of them are just minor changes and they resemble extremely "similar" sounds however they're based on different wave forms which are mixed together to form varieties. Other parameters were mashed, some may have distortions some may not. All the sounds you hear are synthesized. Generally these sounds are for dance music, some of them are well suited for more experimental music as well. But it should not be limited to just techno or trance. . . .

1 looping envelope and 2 vclfos in a dance. I think its harder for this combination to find a nice pattern - equilibrium. It happens sometimes. Maybe the mixture between positive and negative cv confuses the modules. Makes it harder. I start the recording with the looping envelope in non looping mode. After about 19 sec i switch to looping-mode. Records and hope that a pattern should emerge. This time there is a pattern. Yay! not 100% stable but that's perfect!okay, it is harder to recognize patterns when a sequencer is involved.

This is a little 'electronic eurorack modular synth jam'. I am singularly the one recording, producing/ posting and composing/ compiling the works as it is recorded. I wanted to make a very gentle wakeup alarm for my android phone. It's a 25-minute long fade in of a pure 3-khz tone. Created with audacity. I encoded this to ogg vorbis for personal use, but i'm sure you can do this better for yourself (maybe you'll prefer other format), so here you have a quality flac file for source.

I found two melodies in gis_sweden's excellent "you deserve it - friday randomness ii"http://freesound. Org/people/gis_sweden/sounds/362508/. And quantized them into a 92 bpm 4/4 thing. Each melody is presented panned, with and without a beat, then simultaneously. It's sort of an accidental counterpoint. I also messed up his nice analog sound into some harsh digital junk. There's a lot of high frequency energy here so watch it, and apologies to mr. Fletcher, mr. Munson and their daughter, curve.

My first little attempt at making some film-like sound effects. Alot of bass in this one, tried to cut it below 30-50hz. I just want to point out to the people having a listen, that the sample that streams on the website has a small static-like noise in it. . The download version will not have this noise, i believe the compression for streaming degraded the sound a bit.

A krell patch and short sample and hold tones. Okay even the krell gets pitch cv from a sample and hold. The short sample and hold tones are panned with help of chaos. I use two nlc sloth lfos to control the panning. The speed of the short sample and hold tones are controlled by two mixed lfos from bmc 2lfosh.
