Recorded on a canon d550 camera. I live near a water tower built into a hill and firework displays cause a strange echo as the shock wave passes through. Listen to the first burst of bangs and there is a faint sound of "gravel falling into water". I suppose the frequency of the explosion is reverberating in the air gap in the water tower. There is a second burst of fireworks which are far away. Traffic from the a3 road is audible.

Recorded from my balcony at about 23 hundred hours on new year's eve in 2012. Mostly sounds of fireworks which echo from neighbouring buildings and water dripping in nearby gutter. Some distant human voices and traffic noise. Recorded with a zoom h1 portable stereo recorder.

I set out to record new year's eve fireworks, but didn't anticipate the dog going so crazy. It's not a great recording, because of the dog and its owner yelling, but it has moments. Recorded with: audio technica bp4025, sound devices 702t.

This is a recording i took in my back yard on the 4th of july 2014. There are the sounds of crickets as neighborhood fireworks being set off faintly in the background sounding almost like a war zone. The house is off a busy street, so there is also some traffic sounds. Neighborhood dogs bark at the fireworks faintly in the background.

Fireworks recorded with mkh50+mkh30 ms stereo couple in sound devices 664 during shooting in birobidjan, russian federation. Recorded on the 4th floor of a building facing other buildings 50 meters in front and on the left in a residential area. Nice acoustics from that specific tall housing configuration.

I cut as many incidental noises as i could hear on my headphones (cars, neighbors, etc) but there's still some residual hum from an electrical box that was nearby as well as wind. Recorded from the window of my attic flat in walkley bank, sheffield. This is the moment of new year's day 2021. You can hear a small amount of children in the background and one child suddenly shouting "happy new year" and scaring the bejesus out of me at about 3 minutes. I change position at 1 minute 30 (pretty much climbing entirely out of the window) and you get a much more impressive surround sound feel after that. There's also a huge explosion right at the end that is definitely worth waiting for.

On the other side of a line of trees was the launch pad for the towns fire work show. The mic is angled at the sky. Along with the big round booms and flat smacky booms you can also make out the swish as rockets swirl through the air. In between booms, whistles and fizzles you you can also hear the sound of the debris from the cardboard shells falling around me. Sometimes they were on fire, though you can't hear that quality in the audio. It's good for fireworks and is pretty easy to eq for more of a distant quality. I find it's more fun using it to sweeten weapons. The full recording is 29 minutes.

From july 4th, 2019 by the house. Recorded with my yamaha pocketrak and edited on sony vegas. Tracks were duplicated and the last bang was slowed down. Listen how the sound echoes around the hills. A neighbor of mine might have just peed in his pants if he couldn't shoot off his illegal commercial fireworks before the fourth. So, july first, his manly outpouring of window-rattling bomb blasts echoed across an entire valley. For nearly two hours. I like fireworks. When i go to see 'em. Not so much when i can't get away from them. Sure, i could have gone shopping, or out for a drink. I recorded it instead. This particular explosion is just the largest of those that came after i started recording. It's just a lowly iphone but it does pretty well. Admittedly, even with no amplification it might have been too much for the microphone. You have the clear launch sound followed by burst and echo. The same blast kicks off the other fireworks file i am uploading.

It's a recording of a firework candle going off. The candle bursts near the end of the recording, before burning out. Recorded with zoom h2's rear mics at 96khz/24bit on a mic stand. Truncated and converted to 24-bit flac using audacity. This is an unprocessed (raw) recording for maximum flexibility. Enjoy.
