To me the final effect sounded like a haunted space ship. I began with a 10 second sample of ordinary speech then lowered the pitch, stretched the wave pattern, added echo and reverb. Then i copied portions of the wave pattern to a new track and mixed the two into a mono track. Did this several times while also using noise reduction and normalization.

This is a very old, out of tune accordian (the tuning wavers way off key on the main notes as it plays). It might be useful for messing around with to create undertones for a horror or mystery with a rise-fall pattern. I recorded it on an se x1 large condenser mic. Completely free to use for anything. I was trying for something less creepy, but this was just too good not to share. Attribution is nice, but whatever.
