A cataclystic, "buildup" sound effect resulted from extreme manipulation from two digital audio workstations - fl11 and reaper. The base sample was a public domain sound of a roland d50-esque sounding element which was heavily edited using volume-scaled automation, reverberation, pitch-shifting, transpositioning and trimming audio.

Terryfying sounds, like screaming monsters - this was made from a recording of sunny the budgie singing, slowed and reversed and gverb added to make it sinisterrecorded with a tascam dr07 mk2 and processed with audacity.

A taunted dark drone atmosphere, spooky string resonations with a disjointed piano in the background. A tense sound, perhaps for a scene of reflection or a disturbing discovery. Flickering black and white images. Created in ableton live.

Warning: this sound is just a little loud. A spooky noise i made for a map for garry's mod. You might be able to deduce that i'm making a horror map. If you want more freaky noises like these, (i may question your sanity) but i'll make one for ya. ;).

A creepy sounding effect i made by altering my voice and applying a spooky wind effect in the background. Sadly, i don't remember exactly what i did to get this sound. Contains a high-pitched ringing portion that could perhaps be used for headache, memory loss, intense pain, etc. Have fun!.

I won't claim that this is a ghost as i am sure many would debunk, only that i believe it to be. This is an evp i found during playback for something else i recorded in audacity with a usb condenser mic. This happens a lot and i have quite a few. It sounds to me like a voice that is not mine is saying "watch" i cleaned it up as much as i could but this was barely audible originally so i had to bring up the volume a lot which made the noise floor pretty loud. I did some noise reduction to make it sound cleaner. I have personally had experiences that i believe to be supernatural but decide for yourself as you listen or use it as make believe. I have more i will upload when i can including ones from places that have been researched and said to be haunted (taken on my phone). I have to find them but as i come across them or new ones i will share. No need to credit me, i am just sharing this for fun. My "falltuer samplepack" deals with the mysterious sounds i recorded from the door to the loft of our appartement :o. The recordings are made with a tascam dr-05 in stereo. I added a low- and hipass and some fadeouts to make the sounds more enjoyable but apart from that it's raw.

I was showing my 1 year old my recording studio. He was laughing and talking so i recorded him to play it back. His reaction was as wonderful as i could have hoped. This was recorded in my home studio, on a cad e100s microphone. Recorded in audacity, i copied the clip, lowered the pitch, stretched, added reverb, and reversed the audio. I also normalized to -3db.

This is a song i composed on my piano. This may only be a temporary version. I plan to redo the song better on a better piano. Note - i forgot to add this for some reason >_<. This song is based off of "stop" from "ghost k". If your going to credit someone for this song, it should be credited to them since they made the original song.

Grudge movie croak sound interpretation. The sound was created using my own voice drawing in air while croaking. It was recorded using mixcraft 6 and a samson q1u microphone. The only effects used were a delay set to long repeat, a touch of reverb while mixing and some compression while recording. But the sound is my voice, in fact all the sounds i upload here are self made. :o).

To me the final effect sounded like a haunted space ship. I began with a 10 second sample of ordinary speech then lowered the pitch, stretched the wave pattern, added echo and reverb. Then i copied portions of the wave pattern to a new track and mixed the two into a mono track. Did this several times while also using noise reduction and normalization.

Inspired by ben croshaw's point 'n' click horror adventure games, i decided i'd try and see if i can make my own creepy whispers using audacity. This is basically some whispered lines and some really low-volume screams superimposed on one another, with some of these lines reversed. I made this on march 2012 and was recorded on my netbook's slightly damaged built-in mic.
