I made a saw wave and put some flanger and paulstretch effects to it on audacity and made this synth-like saw wave inspired by the saw wave sample from the ps1 startup sound. This was made for a game called festival break-in.

This recording is inspired by alienxxx http://freesound. Org/people/alienxxx/sounds/345510/made a little patch on my modular, still missing its (main) oscillators. I let the patch sound thru a pair of cheap computer speakers that i use as monitors. In an adjacent room, close to an open window, i put my phone and record. This is the unedited outcome. The recording was made 09:00 (16-05-11). Unfortunately nothing happened outside the window. Even the birds was quiet. I think there is a hint of feedback in the sound? first i planned to record with an old tape recorder, but i couldn’t find it. . . I think this recording should be listened to with low volume. May by it was a mistake to amplify the sound in audacity? but i think there is a nice room ambiance to the recording. Ideas for next time. Use guitar amp. Find old tape recorder. Don’t put recording device to close to window.

This sound is a 1-sample long impulse at 48 khz. It covers the whole frequency range with equal power. This is a perfect sample for exciting your guitar amp or reverb unit to capture it's impulse response (ir). You can also play it through a speaker in a reverbant room to capture it's reverb characteristics. Remember that the ir sample will be no flatter than your speaker's performance multiplied by your microphone's performance (frequency response characteristics). The sample has exaclty 1 second of silence, then the impulse, then another second of silence to ensure the impulse will be played clean and untruncated on any sound system or device. My test with ir lv2 convolution plugin have proven, that this sample has absolutely flat frequency response - convolved signal was identical to the source signal. After normalization and sample-alignment of the sound clips i have inverted the polarisatin of one of them and summed them - result was absolute silence, even no hiss was present as a result. This shows the accuracy of the convolution process and proves this sound to be perfect for sampling ir. The impusle was generated with c* dirac ladspa plugin. Created using audacity.

Session 1, find more koto in this sound pack. The recorder wasn't optimally placed in the session 1 recording, so sometimes you might hear some low impact noises transitioning through the table to the recorder. Some eq (low cut) should be able to fix this. We went to my friend's father to record a koto, a traditional japanese zither-like (table harp) instrument, consisting of a large wooden base with long strings for plucking. The strings are tuned in the japanese pentatonic scale, allowing a mystic, mysterious, beautiful harmony. It was my first time ever playing this instrument, so don't expect wonders lol. But i tried to "feel" the instrument as well as i could, working from my limited keyboard and guitar playing skills. I improvised simple patterns, and also tried to work with call and response ideas, and bass notes, plucking the low strings with my fingers, and then plucking the high ones with a pick. An actual new production instead of old stuff! made in june of 2020. A dark intro implies the humming engines of the spaceship you're in as you're traveling at speeds unimaginable. Slowly the ship starts to spring to life. As you open your eyes, slow but huge bands of light sweeps across your cryogenic sleeping pod, as if being scanned. The pod starts to move while you're still in it, going through chambers filled with machinery and bleeping computer stations, until it stops in front of a huge closed door. Suddenly, your pod opens up as well as the door. Your eyes are greeted with the majestic sight of a gigantic control room with windows as far as the eyes can see, galaxies fills your field of view, a beautiful synergetic view of the grandeur of space and the hundreds of lights of the control room, welcoming you to a new adventure. 2 simple chords form the basis of a textural composition supplied with sound effects. Plugins used: ni kontakt 5 with atom hub's the planet, doom by sampletraxx, space by rigid audio, ni absynth, and massive vst synths. Extra sound effects: shocking signal and ui designer by sampletraxx, heavily sampled and mangled. Effects: izotope mastering plugins, a bunch of fl studio stock reverb and eq, guitar rig 5, blackhole reverb, replika xt, raum reverb.

Impulse response of a 60s tube spring reverb unit, fisher k-10 in stereo at 96khz. It is very versatile it looks good on drums, guitars, percussions, synthesizers and vocals, in addition to the beautiful spring sound in stereo.

This is a collection of "small room reverb" impulse responses that i sampled in a new england home known as butternut lodge, built and owned by actress bette davis back in 1940. It consists of all wooden rooms with many non-parallel surfaces, rugs and furniture and includes 3 round-shaped "silo" rooms! these rooms sound clean and do not have the irritating "ping" of many rectangular rooms. Although these round shapes (and some of the other very small rooms) could potentially wreak havoc with phase at specific frequencies when summed to mono, i recorded this using the mid/side mic technique; therefore, the "side" channels fully cancel out, leaving a clean monaural reverb signal. These irs are stored as flac files. They can be used directly by any daw without conversion and have the added feature of being id3 tagged with a photo of the room each ir is taken from. After downloading, select view -> large icons in the folder to view the rooms. I sampled each room using a swept sine wave into a jbl flip 6 bluetooth speaker; recorded through a tascam tm-st1 m/s stereo microphone, feeding a tascam dr-07 recorder @ 24-bits 44. 1 khz and deconvolved using reaper. As of this post, i've been using these rooms for about 2 weeks. So far, i've found the "garage" to sound fantastic on drums! the drum sound! also, many of the other smaller rooms have a great effect on guitars, keys, and hand percussion. Each room varies in tone and brightness, so i've found that selecting/tuning the reverb send works well if approached like an eq. Increase the effect send until the instrument "feels" right (then perhaps back off slightly). A close-miked acoustic guitar, for instance, will take on a nice brightness and 3-d quality; not particularly reverberant, just big. At that point, i recommend applying any eq, compression, and bigger-sounding reverb effects. Hopefully you enjoy this. Please let me know how you like it and if you have any suggestions. Cheers!. Mathematically at 10 rps (600 rpm) you could use this as a sit in for a distant fired ak-47 rifle ideal for video games, war movies, mods, etc. Apply a resonant filter and some reverb for appropriate outdoor acoustics. And nobody will know your distant machine gun sound was a civilian stun gun except for us semi colon right parenthesis. Or you could also apply ringmod at ~9000 hz to simulate ear ringing for those ptsd scenes. Trimming + looping + pitch: if you can loop this properly in a daw you could even create a saw style bass for electronic dance music.

For those who like a vintage sound, this impulse response tries to be the most faithful in the type of spring reverb used in the 60s, on vocals, on guitars, and mainly as a mixing reverb as an alternative to plate reverb if do you want the sound of a garage rock or dub. Depending on the context, you can leave the reverb in mono which reinforces the vintage character.
