Recorded at night in may 2015. This sound was captured near a busy north hollywood, ca blvd on a zoom h6 using the included xy stereo mic. You will hear: traffic, street noise, a buzzing coming from a nearby street lamp, one of those famous la choppers, and a bus.

A simple, peaceful recording of a small patch of woods in the middle of a university city in the midwest. . . You'll hear the gentle, constant " whoosh " of the constant wind. And, occasionally, some birds. The day was mild, for the day it was recorded on february 11th, 2015, and very very bright. Recorded with the marantz pmd661 using stereo samson co-2 stereo microphoneson a tripod in a little clearing in the woods. .

This sound is a katana sword being swung close to the microphone it was recorded in a gym. It was recorded using a zoom h1 with foam windscreen attached. The clip was cleaned up (removed air condition sound) in adobe audition cs6. You can hear some handling of the sword at some points. Some swings have a higher pitch than others but this is the real thing.

Audio of an electrified commuter rail line in downtown charlotte, north carolina as is approaches the crossing. You can hear the horn in the distance, then the bells of the crossing gates as the begin to close, and then the train horns again before it passes by the crossing into the station.

A soft texture for synth pads in a3. Built by layering several sine-wave generators to create the note a and some of its overtones. It was then drowned in reverb. The sine-generators played just a short impulse, what you hear is the tail of the reverb, to give it more richness. Post-production: reverb.

This is an audio recording of brood x cicadas from a tree in my yard recorded on june 1, 2021 in northern virginia. Please note there is a mail truck that you can hear at around the 1:40 mark and some neighborhood workers speaking at 2:05 with a nail gun at 3:33. Birds come in at 2:40 and the cicadas really begin to crescendo at 3:14.

A marimba note being struck while thrown in to the air. Can't remember the mic that was used but it was a condensor mic. One of the most haunting sounds that i have ever captured. I got on the bus one day and didn't notice anyone on there when i sat down, and then a few moments later, i started hearing this sound. I was confused as to what to do. Do i turn around and look at this laugh-er in the face? what would a person laughing like this do to me if i looked at them? how could a person even laugh like this? it doesn't sound physically possible. As more and more people got on the bus, i saw nobody looking in his direction either. Am i maybe imagining this sound? is there a tiny many laughing in my head?. Upon leaving the bus, i looked back and couldn't tell who must have made the sound, but regardless, it still literally shakes me a bit hearing this audio. . . . Recorded with an android phone and edited in audacity.

The beautiful, simple call of the field cricket is one of my favorite insect sounds. In late summer though the huge choruses of katydids and cicadas often drown out the simple beauty of this love song. Later, as the season progresses into fall and the temps dip to where the cicadas and katydids no longer sing, these simple, beautiful field cricket calls still last up to the time that the days just can't stay warm any longer. I like to see how late into the season i can hear these guys---something just hauntingly mesmerizing hearing this sound and no other on a mild autumn day, after a cold night. . This is the sound of a small waterfall i have that falls onto some rock steps and into a coy pond. You can hear the water plashing on the rocks and bubbling up through the filters. Also light environmental sounds in the background - birds chirping, someone building something, kids. Recorded with a tascam dr-40, at-875r mic and love.

Recorded from a balcony with 3dio professional binaural microphone in to an olympus ls-14 recorder. The microphone picked up a small cessna airplane that you can hear in the middle of the recording. The microphone did also pick up the whistle of a person. Both at the start (aprox 20 min in) and at the finish of the recording. I´m am very pleased with this recording.
