This was all recorded in enumclaw, wa on july 4th, 2013. I used a yamaha pocketrak recorder throughout the day and into evening when the fireworks started. There's an old piano outside the music store and i just caught the end of a young guy playing some nice music. I then just walked down the street recording the sounds. You can hear me talking to a guy who's working for a local politician. The b-25 mitchell bomber flyover was totally unexpected and i was lucky to have had the recorder going. It made two passes right over me and i love the sounds of those engines. It was a great day. Please comment on what you will use it for. Thanks. :^).

I was surprised this still worked. This is an old ibm selectric ii typewriter, with correcting tape, the “quieter” selectric at the time. It’s about 80 pounds, a real back-breaker. The carriage return bell is broken, unfortunately, so the best you might hear it is rattling due to the belt vibration. Recorded with a tascam dr-05, without the low-cut since i wanted a beefy sound. Placed direcly above the roller, about 12 inches away. I swapped the channels in audacity to match perception & sampled down to 48khz. Description: i roll in some paper, type a few paragraphs from some copy, and roll it out when i’m done. Man, can you type fast on these machines!.

Just having some fun with the 6 inches of snow that we received. The first part of this is me walking/breaking some ice that had formed in a low area and then me walking on snow, which has a frosty glaze on top of it. Recorded with the handy/zoom h-4n recorder using its built-in microphones. The built-in microphones can be adjusted to pick up sound from 90 degrees around the microphones to 180 degrees. For this recording, i had them on 180 degrees. *note, you will also -- if you listen carefully -- hear a male robin singing in a tree. Pretty unique combination - the snow and ice being crunched with the typical sound of spring in background. He must have been one tough bird!.

I found this fairly small low area, in deep woods, with about 5 inches of water in it. I wouldn't really say it is a pond because it will probably be dry in a month or so after the spring rains. (i think ecologists would call this small body of water an "ephemeral" pond). These spring peepers were putting on quite a chorus as the sun was going down. You'll hear a different sounding frog - or peeper - several times in: at 9 seconds in, 13 seconds in and 15 seconds in. When i first heard it, it sounded like a creaky door! hope you find this fascinating and enjoyable as well. Would make a great soundtrack for a swampy piece. This is the ambience i created for my sci-fi sitcom accidentally reckless of a dropship of some kind approaching a battlefield (and certain death). The bare bones was created from a field recording of the x-1 bus going down attercliffe road towards sheffield city centre, during a period in 2017 when they were constantly resurfacing the stretch that goes past the swingers club, resulting in the bone shaking rattling sounds you can hear. I then layered on some laser and rocket noises (already uploaded) and some engine type sound effects and shuttle flypast effects that i don't think i've uploaded yet. My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Incidentally i often use this type of thing in my long-form instrumental music, produced under the name conelrad. If you stand just underneath a commercial airplane as it's coming in to land (as was the case here at dfw airport) and so long as there's not a lot of noise around you (like loud traffic, etc. ) then when the jet passes overhead, what you can't see is that at the tips of the wings are rapidly spinning vortices of air that coil off the wingtips as the plane passes through air. These long, coiling spirals of air will eventually "close" and as that happens, it creates a momentary but bizarre, surreal sound that you really need to hear for yourself in person to get the full effect. This was the best i could capture on august 15th, 2022. Enjoy!.

A close up recording of an overheating usb slot-loading cd/dvd drive that repeatedly tries to spin up, but fails and makes some clicking noises. Note on low frequency sounds: i recorded this with a zoom h1n recorder at about 2cm distance from the drive slot. I held the recorder in my hand and rested my hand on the surface the cd drive was resting on, so there is somewhat of a mechanical connection between the drive's vibrations and the recorder. I believe this led to the low frequency parts of the recording. About halfway through the recording, i lifted the drive up with my other hand and held it at a 30degree angle to the surface and recorder. As you can hear in the recording, this made it spin up a little longer before failing and spinning back down.

I heard the nightingale singing, went at home took my sennhiser me80 with the windshield basket and recorder zoom h4. I returned to the place i heard the nightingale and the bird was still singing. On the recording you can hear the ambient of chemical factory of honywell seelze, a street with cars sometimes, a second nightingale far away answering our nightingale near by. And some frogs. Boring sound. . . Neuron patch (?). . . Inspired by nlc squid axon (i have saved some hp for that one!) i have patched up a simple 2 stage asr with 2 s/h. Most of the time it plays its atonal melody, but when the patch is stimulated (by a sloth lfo) feedback opens up. I can adjust the sensitivity in different ways (so i can simulate the intake of drugs. . . ). The sound from the oscs goes though vcfs with some resonance. The vcfs are controlled by the same sloth lfo. My neuron patch. . . No hands during recording. My favourite part is when nothing happens - for almost 1 min?! but you can hear the filter working via the vcfs. The cv must be in some strange area.

My small dog was running around outside and got pretty hot. When i brought her in, she began lapping up water at a fast pace. She's also a little sniffly so it got some nice sniffle noises in there too. I feel like this could work well for plenty of different character shots, from a monster, to a comedy-type shot of someone eating something like noodles, to a dog drinking water in an animation. Boomerang is a steel shuttle roller coaster located at bellewaerde in ypres, west flanders, flemish region, belgium. Although it wasn't the first vekoma boomerang to be built, it was the first to be opened due to technical issues with the other roller coaster. This spectacular roller coaster takes you to a height of 32 m, before launching you forward and backward, like a boomerang, at over 80 km/h. There is a lot of nonsense in this file. Some belgian teenagers are talking about their families, their teachers, to fall out of the coaster, banana, carrot. . . You can even hear some flemish words. I just recorded this on my phone whilst i was chilling in the conservatory atont the back of my house. . . The heavens literlly opened for a very heavy shower of. . . Late august here in the midwest is the time for the loud choruses of insects. This recording, done in the backyard of a small town, features the classic"ebb and flow and swell" of the dusk insects. Since a park is nearby, you also hear in the background the excited voices of kids playing---maybe these youngsters do realize that soon they will be back in school and that the joyous, careful time of summer play and reflection will soon be over. I'm trying to create a sound that resembles captain america's shield from the marvel movies. I took a recording of a metal garbage can ringing and brought it into iris 2. I cut the attack from the envelope and added light amplitude sine wave modulation. I also set a short decay. I also layered a clean sine wave underneath the recording sample in order to give the recording more umph and body when it resonates. This is the base of captain america's shield. Layer this with metal impacts and sub sonic stings and you're all set. Please post a link if you use this file. I'm excited to see what you can do with this!. I get annoyed easily when i hear someone telling me what to do. It gets me in trouble. This was a while ago. I hadn't ever been caught at that point, and he was the one recording. He actually got me started on that. Of course, i had taken off the offending articles of clothing and kicked off my sneakers, and was locked outside my own front door that way. Of course i couldn't go anywhere, and the only unlocked window had an air conditioner in it. Yes i did. Right over the top of it, might have looked pretty clumsy, at least…i know it was risky but not as bad as standing out there. Luckily it was a back window. Unluckily, it was raining. Hard. Should have let him build that fence.

Description of collection :dji mavic mini 2 sounds. Recorded on a zoom h5 stock xy mic. No editing not even normalizing, just chopped up segments in audacity. I apologise some recordings may have footsteps sounds, and remote blips (maybe the latter is good and more authentic). Mic may have been places either pointing left-right, or up-down, or both pointing up. Microphone wasn't on the floor, but set on a bench. Recorded indoor. This is a clip of various engine sounds recorded on my 2003 subaru impreza wrx with a 3" turbo-back exhaust system. The audio starts with the engine at idle and includes a few engine revs at different rpms. You can hear some turbo whistling and also some rattling of god-knows-what parts. It's a little muffled (kind of a muddy sound), but could be used as part of an action sequence or with a music track laid over.
