you want sum? i'll give it ya! two neighborhood cats going at it. This is the amplified and noise-removed version of my original "cats fighting" recording. Tips & tricks for professional mastering of dark ambient loops:. ~ (range) 1200 - 8000 hz, the highmid area of all sounds. ~ (gate) filtering in and adding subtle noise in this frequency range can addatmosphere or "air" to dark ambience but sound noisy like a tape recording. ~ (filter) filtering out noise in this frequency range can make the bass andlower frequencies (20-1000 hz) in dark ambience sound clearer but more dull. ~ (highend) frequencies above 8 khz should always be filtered out completelyand muted to 0 db, since those are only necessary in music and higher sounds.

Sound of a cigarette (bugler!) being extinguished in a puddle of water. . . I recorded this (i think) june 2nd of last year while walking along a dry creek bed in middle, tn early in the morning after my first night at idapalooza. Recorded with a sony icd-px720.

Quiet time of day, recorder placed in cardboard box in a cupboard and covered with clothing. As in title and file info, low cut 40hz, 16 bit, 44. 1 khz. I didn't see any point in going below a 70% gain level as it's not too bad at those levels.

Sound output from playback of an old blank/empty type 1 audio tape that has an undulating pattern of noise. The volume hasn't been adjusted, so this is true to the amount of noise present in a tape recording.

In an attempt to add warmth to my productions, i sampled some of the more distinctive sounds mostly from the lead-ins and lead-outs from dirty/scratched records. If shortened, they make for interesting _analog_ glitch noises.

In this interesting take, a flute player continues his song while the train is going nuts on hissing, arriving at the station stop. The flute playing is from a turkish song and has the relevant scale. An interesting daily life event from türkiye. An extra process reduces unrelated noise (audacity).

Ghostly hiss using my voice edited with reverbs and echoes. Typical sound effect for horror soundscapes in movies, haunted houses, escape rooms. . .
