After recording trains crossing the adjacent tracks i turned the microphones southwest towards the intersection of harrison and wabash. Traffic was heavy and drivers were frequently blowing their horns at each other. A couple of vehicles playing loud music stop at the light. Time of recording was 5:57pm. Weather was warm, in the 80s. This recording was taken from the balcony of an apartment in johor bahru malaysia on september 30th 2022 at about 1:30pm. It was monsoon season but not raining and the weather was hazy and muggy. The recording features the drone of a busy city punctuated by a whippersnipper, a building site, birds, a light aeroplane and car horns. At around the 4:30 mark there's two loud motorcycles that race each other and echo around the city in a most glorious way. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5 portable recorder.

I made this melody in garageband for something called victors crypt. It's based on a melody i made on trumpet. Then i added some synthezizers to get more atmosphere and exitment to it. Scrolling through various shortwave frequencies, caught couple tones among the noise. Sounded like sad horns. Radio used was a grundig yacht boy 207 with a broken antenna, recorded on a tascam dr-05x.

A long echoing foghorn sound, made by blowing into a 10-foot-long pvc pipe in a fairly big, empty room. This is the best of the foghorn sounds i recorded. I think it sounds surprising like a real foghorn in the distance. Nice long reverb/decay after the main sound is over.

Recorded on my zoom h4n in early spring at 1:32 am. I believe this to be a call of the great horned owl that is found all over north american as well as parts of central and south anerica. There is a distant sound of a dog barking but there are three owl calls, with the last two the cleanest.
