Did this in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. Had this beat in my head that i just had to do something with. After i put down the drums i added sounds with synthesizers to build it up and make it a bit mysterious. I also added a flute in the middle as a break before it continues again. So i recently got a new portable recorder (sony pcm-d100). Early one spring morning, i could hear a woodpecker crystal clear from inside my room, with my noise canceling headphones still snug on my head. So naturally, i did a lil ambient recording. Since it was spring, the rich chorus of birdsongs made it, in my book, a freesound-worthy file. I didn't process this very much, except wrapping it around near the end so it could seamlessly loop back, and eqing it to bring out the birds more and soften the mic-noise. In case you're curious, it's a pileated woodpecker!.

1 looping envelope and 2 vclfos in a dance. I think its harder for this combination to find a nice pattern - equilibrium. It happens sometimes. Maybe the mixture between positive and negative cv confuses the modules. Makes it harder. I start the recording with the looping envelope in non looping mode. After about 19 sec i switch to looping-mode. Records and hope that a pattern should emerge. This time there is a pattern. Yay! not 100% stable but that's perfect!okay, it is harder to recognize patterns when a sequencer is involved.

This is the result of my big work with some samples from freesound and some samples that i made by myself. They were mixed all together and edited using lots of vst effects and software, reversed many times and mixed again, sampled in lo-fi quality and then again and again. . At first i wanted to use it by myself but then i thought: "why not share it with people? that can be useful. ". So please use it as you like, maybe you're an ambient or avantgarde music producer as me, and that can help you in your music. . Could be useful as a background. Enjoy!.

An sennheiserme66 and me67 on opposite channels, i don't remember which was which(sorry). . But i could tell no real difference during recording (samecapsule, different tube). The mics were near coincident next to canarycage, though shure fp24 and tascam hdp1. Original at 24 bit 96k, down converted to 16 bit 48k. It took allot of intimidation to get the stinking birds to sing. . I threatened violence, finally when alanis morsette played, they gave it up. Otherwise birds would have died (though that may have been an interesting recording too). .

Very strong sounding grasshopper. When i rode home from work at 11 a. M. I heard a strong sounding grasshopper in a neighbor's busch i run into my house and picked up my recorder and mic and run out tried coming closest possible for good sound, but it was a little too close because the hopper become silent. But this is recorded before that :). Eqipment used;recorder zoom h4n promicrophone sennheiser shotgun mke 600rycote classic-softie windscreensoftware wavelab.

In this patch i use bastl instruments tromsø as comparator, sample and hold and oscillator (3 in 1). The cv is coming from nonlinearcircuits jerk off. The audio out from tromsø goes through nonlinearcircuits timbre!. Some delay from an analog delay pedal and reverb from doepfer spring reverb. One voice exploring a chaotic cv source. I sold one of my tromsøs a while ago. Will i regret that? psssst take a closer look at the wave form! the wave folder is doing its work!.
