These are some hydrophone recordings i made for a game-jam project. Since the project was nothing but good fun, i have uploaded some of the more useful sounds to freesound. Org for everyone to use.

All sounds are created with the pluck-. Function of audacity. I modified the attack phase, changed some harmonics with notch-filter andlowpass. For the pluck noise i used a bandpass- filtered white noise.

I needed a big heavy door to slide open pretty quickly. So i started with this excellent sound: 31154__uataudio__hugeslidingdoorslamecm800and mixed and chopped to get this one. Hope it helps someone.

An echoing call of the idiot god from the deep recesses of space. This was done by foley work i was doing for ballad of the seven dice. I modified my voice with numerous effects in audacity to draw it out and deepen it.

I've taken a small segment of audio from my phone in which i recorded for an interview. But i have given out only audio from inside the buzzing coffee shop.

This is a little victory diddy i wrote for when i beat a stage.

I recorded this sound from the backyard on 3. 13. 19 on a cold morning around 8:10am arizona time. It was damp from the rain overnight. I processed the audio in logic by placing a high-pass filter and a limiter.

Menu music i made for a game i ended up abandoning early onmade in about half an hour.

Electronic bass loop extracted from an ableton project that i chose to discontinue. I used robpapen blue to create the sound and some effects like saturation for processing. Lowcut below 35hz.

Made with free tuareg 1. 5 and cool edit pro 2. 1. This breakbeat sequence includes the hot pants break* and the amen break** (besides the four crashes added after exporting from tuareg, mixed with cool edit pro 2. 1). I applied some cuts and two distorsion levels to the last one (i always loved to distort breakbeats). I made it several years ago, i think originally at 120 bpm or 140 bpm. . . But i wanted to check out how does it sounds at 96 bpm and i liked. Inspired by the hustle and bustle of a trip to europe, i made such a short project. After listening for a while, it sounds like advertising music. Maybe it seems like a cleaning product or an application can be used to advertise. For those who want to develop, i can share the sample audio files i prepared for the project. I hope you enjoy listening.

To create this sound i recorded a disposable lighter in my bedroom. To record, i used my aston spirit microphone on cardioid polar pattern and my focusrite scarlett 18i20 second generation (2nd gen) interface running pro tools from my mac at 48khz, 24 bit. I also used a reflection filter to lower rt60 so this sound has minimal reverb to tape. The cable i used was made of canford hst cable and has neutrik xlr connectors.

This is audio i recorded of my husband using his ten year old decrepit constant positive air pressure sleeping machine. I was trying to convince him that he needed a new one. The variety of sounds he and it managed to make is extraordinary. The intermittent beeping is the machine's warning sound. When i played it for him he cried laughing. I hope you find it useful for something. You'll be please to know his new machine is whisper quiet.

Created using lmms ( linux multimedia studio ). Here i have used zynaddsubfx for the hoover type sound and 3 instances of glitch2 vst on the drum loop that i created. There is some compression, stereo widening and side-chaining used also. ( i used a higher resolution samplerate to export this file, which created a further glitch effect on the glitch2 vst,i believe it is maybe hardcoded to 41000hz or perhaps lmms can't handle higher sample rates on vst plugins ).

Friday. Random. Why this madness? answer: i have patched s/h (sample and hold) random to doepfer a-160 clock divider and that affects the a-161. For the sake of it i patched one of the gates to the ladik r-110 rnd t/g (random trigger and gate). Result much more randomness than i can use. I can tell you that there is a lot of blinking diodes :-) sounds from doepfer a-110 and 2hp osc and sampler soundmachines ul1uloop.

Same patch as in electronic minute no 226 and 227 but on my real modular. I'm using a filter. Thats why i call this version subtractive. I'm subtracting harmonics from a square wave. Why are 226 blue? probably because i did it at work. . . Listening in bad earbuds. Makes you rise the bass. Lets see if i can make this wave ble at the end! i will slowly fade out the vco with high pitch. At the very end i'm switching the synth off.

My fmc002 submission!. For this, i generated several sounds from audiopaint (free software) and spectrobits (free vsti), two image->sound synthesis softwares. These sounded interesting but i wasn't sure how to use them. Then i made a drum beat, synth bassline, and some other stuff, rendered the song, used paulstretch to stretch the song out 4x, put it back in the project, added even more stuff to other tracks (mostly timestretched versions of my own samples), rendered the result, brought that render back into the daw, and then reversed it. A lot of effects and automation were also used during all 3 stages of the track's creation. Further, each time i rendered, i used the same mastering chain, so eq and other stuff is being applied multiple times. This brings out some surprising timbres and overtones. Really, the final recording sounds nothing like the sounds i began with.
