This was in our backyard and i have no idea why the birds were doing this. I couldn't see them in the thick bushes and i couldn't tell how many there were. They just went on and on and i never heard them like this before except for maybe one or two squawking away at times. A bit of wind came up and a few background noises. Recorded on my yamaha pocketrak and edited in sony sound forge. Please comment on what you will use it for. :^).

Here is a rainy day version with what sounds like blue jays and other birds including crows in the background. Recorded on the back porch with rain falling off eaves in a spectacular sound clip via a tascam dr-05.

I had normal two-way radio contact in morse code on 8om band. Suddenly a flock of jays flew, they sat on boughs near open window of my bungalow and their acoustic noise terribly interferred my contact. So i must say that not only electronic interference and noise are possible. Record: nokia 6230i in location jn79nd near jindrichuv hradec.

A peaceful fall soundscape of the swelling of the wind as it blows through the leaves of the cottonwood tree, plus, the melancholy sound of some blue jays calling out -- to me blue jays are the iconic sound of fall. Recorded using my handy zoom h4-n portable digital audio recorder and my rode nt-g 2 shotgun microphone. Enjoy.

A recording done in late october of several years ago featuring the crisp sound of the leaves of a giant cottonwood tree being brushed by fall breezes. The sound of a lonely blue-jay really adds to this soundscape. Recorder used: handy zoom h4-n with internal microphones.

An interesting recording of birds, led by blue jays, doing their alarm calls. I was in the middle of the woods when i noticed that the birds seemed to be alarmed like there was a predator nearby and sure enough, i finally spotted a big barred owl sitting high in a tree about 50 yards from my recorder. Pretty amazing how the bird community sounds the alarm.

Soothing lake waves rolling onto beach with a bird call 3/4 through the clip. Not sure of the bird but it was grey and the size of a grey jay/whiskey jack/camp robber but a different spices as it had a black and white saddle on its back and a different head than a grey jay. I was not fast enough to get a photo of the bird. The sound was captured by a rode videomic on a cannon vixia hg20. I broke the sound out with corel videostudio pro 8 and saved the file. A recording of, to me at least, is the symbolic sound of the later summer woods, when the blue jays become more vocal. These beautiful birds stay here in southern illinois all year long, and are a welcome flash of color and blue crest once autumn begins arriving. Now, i have always thought this call of the blue jay is not the prettiest or melodic at all; in fact, hearing the call of a blue jay can be a bit unnerving. . . But, to me, it is symbolic of the " wild " ness of nature. . . One of my most melancholy nature sound. . . The nightly visit of something unidentified object, got a new and historic aftermath. Jay prusse at nasa happened to have his radio scanner on and captured a strong but short signal that was repeated for one minute. Specialists found that the signal actually formed this word 'mirabut'. No one has a clue what this word means.
