Well. . . . . Field recording is a bit of a stretch this was recorded on my back porch in springfield mo usa in june of 2000. I used a minidisk and two pzm's and a home made spliter box that worked only if you never touched it. It was one in the morning to try and avoid most of the traffic. Rain starts about half way in. Enjoy.

Walyunga is a haven of peace and tranquility just outside of perth. It's one of my favourite hikes in the area, as it's only a couple of hours long and combines proximity to water, a bit of a climb, stunning views of perth's skyline, solitude, and gorgeous flora and fauna. This recording was done in june, 2020 using a tascam dr-05x.

This one was recorded with a homemade condenser mic into my zoom h4n, so it sounds a little lo-fi, though it seemed to take additive hf eq quite nicely. The huevos fucheros was delicious. These are 8 lobsters sold at louisbourg in a cool-box awaiting their demise, saturday, 16 june 2007. Some of them were making this noise; others were silent, or just tapping their palps against the box or the other lobsters periodically. Part of a longer recording; i think i edited out the occasional bang where a lobster hit the mic, but my apologies if i didn't get them all.

This is an audio recording of brood x cicadas from a tree in my yard recorded on june 1, 2021 in northern virginia. Please note there is a mail truck that you can hear at around the 1:40 mark and some neighborhood workers speaking at 2:05 with a nail gun at 3:33. Birds come in at 2:40 and the cicadas really begin to crescendo at 3:14.

A recording of morning birds and other morning sounds (cars, bicycle) made in barnet england around 6am on a fine day on the 15th june of 2022. As it was near the solstice the sun was already up. The recording was made by poking a zoom h5 portable recorder outside a third story loft window. The microphones are the stereo pair included with that unit, with a windjammer.

A recording made in mid june of 2017 near the ohio river from the bank of rosiclare illinois. The main sound is an angry killdeer that was constantly fussing at me for being too close to her nest. You'll also hear a johnboat plowing through the river, the wind through the leaves of a huge sycamore tree and various children, low in the distance, playing on a playground on this perfect 80 degree summer day. This is one coqui singing alone. The file was remasterize to eliminate other insects and noise sounds. Was recorded in the west of puerto rico island in the caribbean on june 19, 2022. A curiosity not too many people notice is that the individuals and species sing at different hours of the night and are affected by temperature and humidity. Rain increments the volume and intensity of frequency of the different species, some days one to 3 species can sing. Others you can hear up to 6 species in conjunction with other types of none arboreus frogs.

It's an awe-inspiring building, with soaring, tree-like pillars and flooded with color from the stained-glass windows. This one prominently features the sound of water flushing through an outside kitchen drain into an alleyway. Common suburban evening birdsong can be heard clearly throughout with distant traffic noise in the background. This recording was made on a warm, clear day in early june right on the sandy bank of the mississippi river -- between illinois and missouri. You hear the low, strong surge of the diesel engines as a barge slowly passes through and, what i find most enjoyable, you hear the gentle lapping of the river as the waves reach the sandy shore. You also hear various birds, including the common red-winged blackbird. Even though this recording was made around 3pm in the afternoon, you also hear a low chorus of insects adding to the relaxing summer-like ambience. A very peaceful, yet strong soundscape of a majestic natural wonder that’s been here for millennia. Recording made with the zoom h4n, using the built-in internal mics.

Besides being an inspiration since man first explored her, the ancient mississippi river is also a highway for many coal-carrying barges. For this recording my zoom h4n was on the soft, powdery sandy bank about 60 feet from the river…you hear the gentle, but powerful thrumming of the giant diesel engines as a huge, 200 foot barge passes by. Some notable natural sounds are a very clear red-wing blackbird at 20 seconds in, and again at one mine in and again at one-minute 13 seconds into it. You hear a wonderful, clear splash at 27 seconds into as well. Recording made around 4pm on a warm -- 80 degrees -- june day. Close your eyes, dig into the powdery, soft sand of the mississippi river bank and float away on a warm summer day.

Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. At 00:24, the driver remarks "he's doing it again!". The fourth attempt succeeds in starting the engine after a rather long cranking. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. Here is a recording done during the fireworks of san juan at the beachof barcelona, spain. I was standing in front of the mapfre building, between the building and the sea to be exact. Fireworks were being launched behind me from the beach and their sound was reflected off of the building in front of me. The effect you hear are thereflections of the building. The building is shaped to visually reflect the city back onto the beach. Hence each floor has mirrors in a 45 angle downwards, all around the building (look it up on google for details). The sound must be coming from different points each located further away, creating a kind of discrete doppler effect, i suppose, although i am not yet 100% sure what exactly causes this. I am holding the microphone sideways, so you hear the explosions on your right ear and the reflection traveling to the left. In reality, you hear the explosion behind you and the reflection traveling up along the building. If you are ever in barcelona end of june during "san juan", you should check this out!. I combined an ambient bar crowd recording that i found here with a funky little back beat that i also found on this site and made a great cubicle noise blocker / filter. I use this at work with headphones on when i'm trying to concentrate and drown out conversations in the office. Also good for when i work from home and i'm trying to drown out the tv and other distractions. The crowd noise is excellent at diffusing regular office conversation and the little funky back beat keeps the crowd noise from getting boring. This works really well even at fairly low volume i. E. You dont have to crank it loud to drown out the distractions. Hope you like it and thanks to everyone for the great sounds on this site. An actual new production instead of old stuff! made in june of 2020. A dark intro implies the humming engines of the spaceship you're in as you're traveling at speeds unimaginable. Slowly the ship starts to spring to life. As you open your eyes, slow but huge bands of light sweeps across your cryogenic sleeping pod, as if being scanned. The pod starts to move while you're still in it, going through chambers filled with machinery and bleeping computer stations, until it stops in front of a huge closed door. Suddenly, your pod opens up as well as the door. Your eyes are greeted with the majestic sight of a gigantic control room with windows as far as the eyes can see, galaxies fills your field of view, a beautiful synergetic view of the grandeur of space and the hundreds of lights of the control room, welcoming you to a new adventure. 2 simple chords form the basis of a textural composition supplied with sound effects. I tried out some new gear and methods! more mountainside rain! a complete storm from beginning to end with swelling and then waning rainfall, occasional thunder. Ms stereo bar on mic stand projected through open second-floor window, just under the roof eaves. Recorded july 20th during one of the mid-afternoon brief intense storms we can seem to get frequently in the rocky mountain foothills beginning around june. If you were listening and wondering, the direct sound of the thunder is somewhat occluded as i believe the storm was behind the overhanging roof and house from the perspective of the microphone array. The mountainous terrain and other objects in the field reflected some of that thunderclap, as well as the exterior wall of the home, and so this is all a little bit funky.
