Representational approaches to field recording are bullshit. On another day i will explain why i feel this to be the case. But it centers around a critique of the distinction between representation/reality, along with a critique of the concept of mediation. A drum pattern in 11/8 time. Someone on freesound's forums requested some strange timings for drum patterns, so i programmed these for them. Decided to make an entire pack up.

Cymbals need some 15khz eq increase because of the dynamic microphone's treble roll-off. No copyrights, free for all uses. I recommend using native instruments battery to launch the samples. Each of the battery's cells can accept stacked multi-samples, and the kit can be played through an electronic drum kit through midi. Excellent results. Any comments, contact matias: matias. This is a recording i ade of my drum kit back in 2014 after receiving a new snare drum. Note that the head that came on the snare has since been replaced, so a new recording may be in order at some point.
A sound of a tightening wrench (a bike repair kit) being spun around to produce its distinct ratchet like sounds. Foley fun: put to 25% of its rate and you get convincing metallic gear sounds, apply a tiny bit of reverb, maybe layer it with some screeching sounds from other users (or me, your choice) or a slow gate shutter to get a nice mechanical door opening sample.
Triplet drum beat at 110 bpm, heavy swing feel. The sound has been treated with moderate eq and compression. The timing is not the most accurate; the suitability of this sample would depend on the importance of that.
A couple of years ago i sampled my korg er_1 drum machine connected to my electro harmonix "big muff" stomp box. . . Resulting in this kit. . . Enjoy!.
