Two envelopes trigger each other and the quantizer which is fed with cv from the sloth lfo. Anyway, a modular synth experiment. A triangle wave from an lfo acts as a bass tone.

Zlob diode chaos - selection from an hour long recording, 54min and 45sec in. The chaotic lfo has 4 outputs x, y, z and trig (trig-ich. . . ). After that you hear the two oscillators. Great module. 3 in one. Lfo, sample and hold and oscillators. Square, triangle wave and a mixed waveform!.

A drone sound i created using a dsi mopho, recorded in logic. I didn't use any fx. It's a filter sweep with some resonance and lfo 1 is modulating pan position.

I have built a nonlinearcircuits sloth lfo, the regular version. Sloth is a chaotic lfo. The output is based on the lorenz system. It is a system of ordinary differential equations. It is notable for having chaotic solutions for certain parameter values and initial conditions. In particular, the lorenz attractor is a set of chaotic solutions of the lorenz system which, when plotted, resemble a butterfly or figure eight (very much from wikipedia). The sloth has two outputs x and y. Think of them as coordinate pairs. The output will probably never repeat itself but there is a pattern. I have built the regular sloth it usually takes approx 15 seconds to make a rough figure 8, one cycle in the “butterly”. Now i’m testing the module in different ways. In this sound i have connected white noise to a filter. The filter frequency is controlled by sloth (x output). In this patch i have set the initial frequency low. That’s why there is a low humming wind noise between the “tops”. The output sound from filter goes to reverb. The sound is more a study of sloth behavior than an attempt to create a great wind sound.

A patch generating triggers not that random. . . The triggers are triggering an envelope generator and a sample and hold. The sample and hold cv is quantized following a minor 7th chord rules. Hope you understand. . . Pardon my english. Why this. Answer. I have to start adding something like this to my patches. But i use 3 lfos for this :-/ thats about all i got - right now. An octave played on a synth i made as a request fulfillment. It's got a heavy lfo. The first playthrough is staccato, while the second is smooth and legato, and allows for the note to warp back.

I use a voltage controlled lfo (vclfo) for this experiment. When i send a trigger to the lfo it resets and start over again. In this example i'm using a sinus wave output. I send the output, the sinus wave, to1 - a sample and hold (s/h) module2 - a quantizer3 - straight to vco. The s/h and the quantizer are triggered at the same time. Even an envelope a generated with the same trigger. All three sounds are controlled by this envelope. First out we have s/h (left)second straight to vco (right)third the quantized (center). As usual its fun to take a real close look at the wave!.
