Recorded on a zoom h4n in stereo. The lions were fairly far away. I've amped it a bit make them louder and removed some bass rumble. We actually had lions walk through and roar (!) in our camp one night! unfortunately i didn't have my recorder running then. It was deafeningly loud! next time!.

Daw: ableton live 10. Used: polygon2 and post processing.

I created this monster growl for ashtur's lovecraft character in a live action role playing game i organized. I used lion and elephant growls i recorded in a zoo with my ipod equipped with tascam im2x mic.

In this sound i can imagine a monster in a horror game that is stressed because it can't catch its prey or another thing i can imagine is that the beast has been injured and is roaming around in pain. I made this sound using vocal sounds from a lion! i used fl studio like i always do and added effects like reverb, some eq and i also reversed the file to. A clip i created using eminor chord on synth with operatic alto voice trying to lure edmond to the castle. That voice is actually a male voice which happens to be me, lol.

Monster noises made using heavy granular synthesis, formant and pitch-shifting on a female voice.

I recorded my voice while playing freelance horror games; scp-087-b and slender sanatorium. This was so i could get genuine reactions to use as stock voice clips for future use. Some pretty interesting stuff came out. I said this upon seeing the lion statue.

A big-cat-sounding growl; on the exhale and inhale. This sound was created using my voice, a pc mic, and a pitch-shifter. Not sure what it's suitable for, but friends keep asking me for it (i use it as my empty-the-recycle-bin noise).

Recorded on 03/12/2010 at the lion enclosure - melbourne zoo, australia. Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, with a windshield. This is the rear channel only, to minimise the train/tram noise from the front channel. File has not been modified.

This is a variation on a guttural growl i made to depict some giant bears in power armour. I recorded myself with a zoom h1 and then fiddled with pitch shifts etc to get to this big cat noise (well, that was what i was aiming for).

When i first tested out my zoom h5 i began talking into the mic and then all of a sudden i needed a sneeze. I was about to stop the recording but then thought it would be good to record the sneeze to see how it handled my loudness. Well it coped very well and the recording came out perfect!so, here it is. I also played around with it in audacity and slowed it down which makes me sound like a roaring lion. Have a listen to that one too, it's uploaded here!it's called 'sneeze_male_slowed_-86%'. Enjoy!.

All my sounds were created for a motioncomic i created called: kay & gojiah. . . I did not create these from scratch, but instead, remixed stock sounds of different roars, growls, breathing, etc. And fiddled with their settings until i got a sound i felt satisfied with. Something i threw together for a personal project i was working on. I couldn't find any high quality samples of a dragon so i decided to make my own. This was created using ableton and contains the following sounds:a dog growlinga lion roara horse gruntingan elephant vocalisinga flamethrower sound. All sounds used were obtained from royalty free websites and manipulated using software so that the original samples are not identifiable. The combining, layering and processing of the sounds were all done by myself within my daw. I hope those of you who find this are able to make great use of it. This is a foley recording i did for a cinematic nature documentary. In the scene you see lions pulling the guts out of a recently killed bison. As the sound assistant didn't want to get too close, i simulated the sound by mushing up a plate of lasagne in front of a pair of rode nt5's. Very suitable for zombie movies - have fun! :).

A roar for a kaiju style creature. Lions, tigers, bears and a hint of whale song. Most of the sounds (a couple of bass instruments, several animal roars) come from garageband, along with some recordings of a human made on a zoom h1.
