A cool sci-fi wined up, build up sound.

It's a sound that i created with a patch i made in pure-data (my first patch btw). Completely random frequencies in completely random space imaging. Merge with au "fm" sound where the index modulation change randomly, the carrier tone and the modular tone also change randomly. I applied a random delay. . . . So random random!.

Synthdrone. Synth used: plex. Probably useful for horror or sci-fi movies.

Recorded @ 8khz with a griffin italk mic to a recently refurbished 20gb 3rd generation ipod - my favorite lo-fi field recording / interview rig. If you have a recording device on your person, you get a lot of stuff you'd otherwise miss altogether. This rig helps me get those things too ephemeral to capture with a stereo pair; sounds i would regret not having at all. I keep it on my belt 90% of the time. Just in case.

Raw sampled xlive. Exe on a hungarian windows 7 64-bit computer using audacity. The reason why it's only 11khz in frequency range is becaue 44 100 hz makes the sample too high pitched. Also had to make it mono because most of the sound was pushed to the right.

Lots of noise.

Sound is a short clip from a microcassette field recording of my next-door neighbors talking outside. It has a seemingly young girl exclaiming "he looks like a damn prick!" and then some other things i don't remember or couldn't discern. I have no idea what they were talking about. . .

Some c0 16. 35hz sine drawed in audacity with mouse hand free with no correction of the irregularities, looping, an envelope drawed manually as well, like for the original graphical pixel art obscur principles, except some slight eq filtering.

This use to be a song i was trying to write. . . I failed miserably at the song but played around with some ambiance i created by accident and turned it into a piece or sound design instead. Good for a scene change in a horror film i suppose.

After clicking on pause, this sound persists in the headphones. . . Don't know why. . . But it sounds interesting.

So when i launched audacity within gentoo linux, a strange ground loop occurred. However, adjusting the volume settings within alsamixer caused the ground loop to become different per volume settings. The higher the volume, the less noise is produced; the lower the volume, the more noise is produced. I hereby proclaim this into the public domain, no restrictions! have fun, y'all!.

There is alot going on under the hood here, everything from an analog bass exciter, feeding into a audio rectifier, creating that unique bass tone. A highpass filter, feeding into a delay. And then a tape emulator, featuring frequency loss, tape degradation and wow'n'flutter. Other versions of this remix:. . Since my ears can't hear any frequencies above 14khz (please remember to wear ear defenders around loud machinery! thank you. <3), i can't hear tape hiss very clearly, and are afraid i might overdo the volume. This is a casio sk-1 i did around a year ago or so from reeds book plus a video out and 18 on board rca jacks with another 25 pin dpi that can run through a breakbox. Noise and bent sounds as usual. Crashes alot. Oh and it's not the hardest "mother of bends" serious, i wore socks and everything. : ).
