My phone ringing, me pressing the talk button, me yelling, me hanging up, and then me yelling again. This was made a long time ago. I think i had just put together some sounds i recorded for no reason in order to get this. Sorry about the poor quality. At the time i didn't have a good microphone.

A nice & sunny recording session at the airport! positioned right at the flight path of departing planes, this served as a test recording for the tascam dr-40x. At some point during the session i decided to point the recorder straight up, instead of towards the planes themselves, creating a nice stereo "pass-by" effect.

Long recording of a wood cutting session with a small gas powered chainsaw from stihl. I removed conversation so there are some jumps between the wood cuttings. But to compose your own wood cutting scenery, i prefered to keep all the handling, pereparation of wood and different types of cuttings in the recording.

I made this using my alto recorder. It is quite long but can easily be shortened. I just realized that i forgot to take the breath sound out at the end!! sorry! i will do better next time. A long recording on board the "green car" of the jr tokkaido line from atami to shinagawa. A "green car" refers to the first class cars on some long distance local trains. The ride is smoother and the cars are generally much quieter. The cars are generally empty but, this was at the end of a 3 day weekend, so the car was actually quite active (i'll try to get a quiet one soon). You can hear the ticket attendant, the conductor's announcements, station arrivals and departures, passengers getting on and off the train and settling in and having conversations. At some point you can hear the guy behind me eating senbei (a crunchy japanese rice cracker) - that's a little annoying, but there might be some usable bits in there if you're good at editing backgrounds. But like i said, i'll try to get a less busy train next time. Recorded with 2 stereo mic pairs and unedited.

A recording of myself doing some "creative tuning" willy-nilly around the available spectrum of "websdr at raf hack green", 3/11/13; trying to keep things interesting, yet not lingering too long anywhere in particular, and avoiding rather than seeking intelligibility of the various broadcasters. Some bits reminded me of ben burtt's "droid/alien chatter" material.

It's a long, organic and haunting two-tone call echoing in the forest night; a clear alternative to the mechanical and tightly musical ringtones out there, and one i like a lot. Edited to wrap nicely for a continuing repeat.

While outputting a file of sound effects, i ended up with a severely corrupted file. Playback results include incessant shrieking and slight pitch alterations. To create more variety, i used a lowpass filter and long reverb.

Old guitar multitrack recording with some effects from the pod x3. Some post-processing, not much. There's some minor clipping issues since i never got around properly mixing this and the original project file is long lost. Maybe someone can find use for this :-).

First upload. Recorded with zoom h4n. It's flax seed in an empty plastic spice container. It's a 16th note rhythm amd it loops perfectly at 130 bpm. It has some fairly subtle panning effects. Eight quarter notes long, but also works really well every 4 quarters, every three etc. I. E. When doubled and even tripled on itself in a sequencer.

A tiny baby chipmunk chirping at me and looking at me as a stern warning. It was about 2 inches long and sitting on a tree branch about 4 feet in the air. After some time realizing i was not leaving, the chipmunk retreated into the distanct and out of my sight. Recorded on: tascam dr-05xdate: july 9, 2022location: clegg lake, uintas, utah, usa.

I was at a human trafficking conference and to thank the people the first nations people of the area sang this song for a long time brushing the participants with cedar boughs and smudging. I caught about half of the singing and drumming. It was done in a large lunch room with about 100 people attending in the late afternoon. I recorded the sound with my lumix fz200. Location was in surrey british columbia.

Grudge movie croak sound interpretation. The sound was created using my own voice drawing in air while croaking. It was recorded using mixcraft 6 and a samson q1u microphone. The only effects used were a delay set to long repeat, a touch of reverb while mixing and some compression while recording. But the sound is my voice, in fact all the sounds i upload here are self made. :o).

It's a recording of water boiling in a kettle. You can hear the electric gas ignitor, the ignition and then warming up. The water was already very hot so this wouldn't take forever to boil. Then the whistley does it's job. Rising, steady, then the gas was taken out and the whistle slowly fades away. Very long natural fade-out. Recorded with zoom h2. Edited and normalized with audacity.

This is the sound of a minidv camcorder i bought off ebay, eating a tape of historic one-of-a-kind footage. I'll now have to get the tape repaired and attempt to rescue the footage some other way. Hammer hitting a nail: in this sound you hear a metal hammer hitting a metal nail into a slab of wood, creating a harsh sounding sound. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. A high shelf and a band was added to the sound to make the hammer hitting the nail more clear. The hammer used was 2kg hammer and the nail was 5 cm long nail and the wood was a piece of eucalyptus tree wood.

Created using a wide variety recorded sounds (including a washing machine, sliding of rocks in a metal bucket, and various other objects being thrown and collided), mixed and heavily edited in audacity.

I recorded this gate in ashton court, bristol. I recorded it for a surround sound eco-soundscape composition however i felt the need to share as it was probably one of the best sounds i captured. The long hollow poles the gate is attached to creates a spooky reverb that sounds like its coming from the ground itself. Please feel free to use this wherever you need.

This is a great clear and loud recording of a cat purring for an extended period of time with no obtrusive noises in background. Rip pozzo, whom the purr belongs to. He was a very affectionate cat and purred if you so much as stared at him. Happened to catch this sound one night while alone at home with the cat. He was on my lap and my sound equipment happened to be right next to me.

I know a gentleman who started cutting his kids' hair and just never stopped cutting hair, long past his retirement as a farmer. I've never seen him take a cent for it, and he has friends; so he's never out of practice. You will hear an electric clipper used to taper hair on the back of the neck and to trim sideburns. He does not use a barber's straight-razor, but a small electric razor finishes the job.

This was recorded with a trustin portable rechargeable 8gb dictaphone. The recorder was held about 7" away for the louder scrapes and drops and no more than 3" away with the softer scraping sounds. Some normalization was used to drop the peaks. The tiles were in the small hall of an apartment, facing an open door. The hall was approximately 3 feet wide and 8 feet long. This is free to use anywhere you may find useful, and i'd love to hear the results.
