Originally an early 19th century Irish tune that became popular during during the civil war, Patrick Gilmore wrote lyrics for it and published it as "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" in 1863. I was amused of the looks of these guys and how they wondered "what the hell is that grey furry in his hand?" but no-one was hero enough to ask me ;)well, the recording is a great one! but i guess i will never be that near to a marching parade again. Hopefully somehow useful for some of you!.

I was climbing down the path above the town in the early evening and the sound carried up out of the narrow streets nicely. Some handling sounds at the beginning. Free to use in anything. I'm at the corner of 5th and kansas not far from kair 93. 7fm studios. This sound starts with the band from part1 departing and a truck passing. Children talk and yell and a man yells something. Another band approaches. A woman seems to tell someone to say cheese in the distance. The file ends when the band gets a bit too loud for my microphone. Recorded with goldwave with an asus laptop in my backpack and a microsoft lifecam3000 poking out of it facing behind me clothes-pinned to one of the handles of the pack. Unfortunately microsoft no longer supports their lifecam apps so it's not possible to turn down the internal mic gain.
