These recordings were made at the annual "tag der sachsen" (saxony fair) in freiberg. Recordings were done on the main market square (obermarkt), where a local radio station had set up a large stage for concerts and other events. Recording was done with a zoom h2, mics at 90° dispersion. This is the early morning after the event, at about 7. 30, stage hands are taking down the rigging, workers are clearing away trash and loading trucks. During the recording, someone starts working with a leaf blower.

I made this recording when visiting india in 2019. Next to the street there was a fleamarket with vendors playing pre recorded advertisements for their products. You also hear people chatting, motorcycles passing by and chlidren laughing.

Jemaa el-fnaa is one of the biggest squares in africa, and is one of the most vibrant places i have ever visited. Each time of day brings a very different energy, and one will find snake charmers, musicians, dancers and stands selling pretty anything you could think of. Although busy during the day, jemaa el-fna is swarmed with people at night and can quickly become overwhelming. This recording is from february, 2020, using a tascam dr-05x.

This is an ambient recording of the late night crowd of kids at 14th street unions square nyc. It's where the market usually is during the day. There is some traffic present but it's mostly about the voices and energy of teens. You can hear the clack and roll of skate boards, voices and gritty near by footsteps. In 's-hertogenbosch in holland we have carnival every year. This is a recording in the centre of the city. A recording of several 'dweilorkesten' that is a band that plays musing in the street. 'literal' translation is 'mop band or mopping band'. The go trough the streets like someone mopping the floor. This recording at the market-place is made with hundreds of people around.
