I wanted to create mood for a shot video piece that was dramatic, ambient and atmospheric. I jumped on my midi-controller keyboard and generated this sound on my computer using software synths and mixed it and processed it in audacity. Useful for background music for video, or for meditation.

Series of sounds produced by opening a window to a pattering rain: first the heavy wooden blinds being cranked open and lifted, then the metal latch being turned, the wood-frame window itself opened and its counterweight clanging in the wall, then the storm or screen window being lifted and popping into place.

This is a tone that i generated using my electric fender strat through one of my vintage amplifiers in my studio. Works well as a sample for composing soundscapes with it - i've used these tones in maschine and other sequencing/midi based instruments to create some interesting orchestral arrangements with the tones.

I recorded hot-water-heating pipes crackling and then looped the sample at progressively faster & harmonically relevant speeds. This is one of twenty-two such samples that i layered together to make a new sample, which became the foundation for this binaural beat meditation track: https://soundcloud. I was trying to make some floaty meditation type music like people use for hypnotherapy and yoga and stuff but accidentally made something fractionally too menacing. To me it sounds like something you might have in the background of a scene where viewer is contemplating an unexpected cosmic vastness or an ancient alien artefact or something otherwise mindblowing but also potentially existentially threatening.

Recorded during the heatwave that the uk endured in 2022 this was a recording made from the garden on august 25th. The recording starts with gentle rain which slowly becomes heavier. Around 25 minutes the first distant rumble can be heard. From 30 minutes onwards. The soothing sounds of thunder and heavy rain. From an hour on the storm moves away and the rain eases.

I steve reiched a 'tune' i made with the celeste sample from my edirol orchestral plug-in and i think it makes good atmospheric music for a variety of things, depending on where you are in the track. It only really gets going from about 1:35 but after that i think it makes good fairy tale, horror, meditation, relaxation and mystical/cosmic soundtracks.

Ambient music is often very relaxing and beautiful. The sound i offer you here may not give me a singel star, but it doesn't matter, because i think it's one of the best i have ever done.
