Unfortunately this dog isn't with us anymore so i've tried again to clean up this bit of her out on the porch at night. It was recorded with an old blackberry playbook, which also isn't with us anymore. I think this version might be more useful.

Thunderstorm, late night with rain falling on a quiet urban neighborhood side street of a large u. S. City. 4:30. The rain decreases over the recording. Good bits of distant thunder. Distant sirens in the last half of the recording. Some distant traffic noise, and a couple of cars passing close. I didn't notice until afterwards that i had the recorder set in mp3 format. Given another chance i'd redo as a 48/24 wav, but it doesn't rain all that often here, and the quality on this recording is still very good, 192kbps. Zoom h4n - mp3 - 44. 1/16.

Short melody performed on a moog grandmother with the spring reverb turned pretty high which is what the dissonance between notes. It was recoreded into ableton live 10 using a focusrite 2i2 audio interface at 44. 4 khz in dallas texas on a rainy night.

Six o' clock friday night in the small village of spannum, northern province of friesland in the netherlands. Subsequently two types of bells. First one strikes six; second one is more of a convocation. Crackling in background are dry autumn leaves. Zoom h4n.

Recorded using my droid turbo in the windowsill and has surprisingly good sound quality. Thunder is consistent and perfect for ambience.

This sound field recording was made back in 2000 on a very late/early morning. I placed the sony microphone ontop of the car outside to record the crickets and cicadas. There were a lot of mosquitos out that hot night. One of them landed on the mic and actually bit the microphone. You have to listen close but the bug bites at about 14:28 and removes the mosquito blood sucker at about 34:28. This recording was made alongside a camera trap survey while at loagan bunut national park in sarawak, malaysia. It's a quite nice little bit that we didn't expect to ever find a use for, but came across this website and through i would share it. It lasts a good long time with pretty consistent sounds, so best wishes on it's use. Quiet urban residential area in tokyo at about 2 am in the late summer (october, i think). You can hear far off traffic, some night insects and a drunk guy who came to close to my hidden mics to take a whiz. Excluding the peeing guy, quiet parts are perfect for looping (for ambient background sounds in video or audio works). The peeing guy might actually be useful, so i didn't cut it out. Faithfully recorded with a stereo mic pair placed at a 90 degree angle. The left-right balance was adjusted and the stereo field was expanded later to fix the lopsided sided flatness of the original recording. Other than that, the recording is unprocessed.
